A Fantistic Cruise by DorothyL2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We just took a cruise to Eastern Caribean on the Glory. What a wonderful experience we had aboard ship. The crew, entertainment and food was just great'''' There was plenty to do for the 7 days that we were on the ship. The restaurants aboard ship were really nice and the cusine was excellent. This is the first time that we take and 7 days cruise and we were a little hesitant not knowing that much about this ship. We surely will cruise on this ship again. We had a balcony that was just wonderful. I really enjoyed the time we had at sea with a balcony. The rooms were just great and large enough for two people, we even had a pull out couch that made into adouble bed. That was nice to.

a not so wonderful cruise by Petrus

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

On the first day of our cruise we complained to the purser about the terrible noise in the cabin and especially on the balcony. We asked if wecould have a better room and offered to pay for it. Though they apologized for the inconvenience and send letters of apology, nobody came to check it out, which in my opinion meas that they are well aware of the situation. A numberof cabins on the 8th floor are located directly under the swimming pool and probably because of a fault in the construction one hears people walking, moving chairs and tables on the wooden floor. We are not talking about a littele noise noe and then, we are talking a very loud noise, which makes conversation impossible, especially on the balcony. It goes on till late at night and starts early in the morning. I don't know if we are the only ones who complained officially, but a number of our neighbors complained to us and thought it was a shame. Bunny Zinkerman, who is our travel agent inyour company, and with whom we like to do business, was enthusiastic about this cabin. Our main request was to have a balcony, but to pay money for an unusable balconyis very misleading and we really like to know how we can protect ourselves in the futur from such bad experiences. We hope that because of this letter, no more victims wiil be made because for people to look forward to a nice and quiet vacation, it is kind of criminal.

Room for improvement by DanB10

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship, Carnival Glory, was clean and the room service and cleaning was excellent. There was plenty of food whenever you want. Dining room service was great, but I wouldn't consider the food 5 star. They don't use any spices when cooking, and beef, pork and chicken were somewhat tough. The fish was good. We had a room on level 8, just below Lido deck. The service crew would be cleaning all night on Lido and it sounded like a train was passing overhead all night long. I think they were moving chairs around to clean. It really cut into my sleep. This was my first cruise, and I'm not sold on the concept. There was alot of down time while sailing and very short port time. It seemed when we were in port it was a rushed affair to get off, get to our selected excursion, then reboard before the ship sailed. I would prefer much more port time and less sailing time. Also, I found it to be quite expensive with all the extra charges for everything. They charge a $10/day gratuity plus 15% on any drink ordered, then they want you to tip everyone at the end of the cruise. While most of the staff was very friendly, I encountered a photographer that was nothing less than rude. If you are a sports fan and want to catch a score of a game - good luck!!!! The college world series was in progress during my cruise and the Oregon State University Beavers, defending champs, were in the playoffs. I couldn't get an update anywhere. Even the Pursers desk blew me off. My next vacation will be an all-inclusive resort somewhere where I can stay in one place and have time to experience the local culture.

Not So Thrilled by MattK3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We were unsatisfied with this ship. We had a family reunion for my father's 60th birthday and my sister's wedding. The first night we found out that my family was not sitting at the same dinner table as the rest of our party. We went to the maitre'd to change our placement and we were told there was nothing that could be done. Therefore, we missed the celebration of these big occasions at dinner. My wife went to the spa and sat there for 35 minutes before she found out they had overbooked and forgotten her. They apologized and said they would call her for a free appointment if something opened up. Needless to say, they didn't call. We felt rather unimportant on this cruise. It was a big disappointment overall.

Great Ports, Not so great ship by TracyT1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Ship appears to need some work. Seems very run down. Food was ok, best in the dinning room but staff just did not seem very attentive. Do not know if I will travel on this ship again but I have traveled other Carnival Ships and will most likely travel on those again.

Great 1st time cruise by ShanaM1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This ship was huge, with lot of different things to do. Staff on board were excellent, and made you feel at home. It would be more helpful to have various maps of the ship to decrease confusion of locations. Port locations were good, but some could have had more activities beside shopping. Overall ship entertainment, food, activities, and staff were great!!!

Most Relaxing Cruise Ever by CherylT8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I thought the staff on the ship was friendly and pleasant and they made it a point to make each day even more brighter! I don't know how to begin to describe the food on this ship. It was phenominal, delicious and plentiful! The best part of the entire trip was the Cruise Director, Wee Jimmy! He was so funny and entertaining, that I could have listened to him from the time I woke up to the time I went to bed. No othere entertainment would have been necessary! I only had one small mishap, that occurred at the end of the trip, but I am sure it will be taken care of. My garmet bag, never made it from the ship to the airpoint on the return flight. Other than this, the trip was extremely pleasurable and I hope to take another one in 3 years with Carnival!! This time I want to bring the entire family!

Nice Time on Carnival by BillG15

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall we had a great time! nice ship with lots of offerings. Cabins are "comfy", we had a Verandah deck cabin with balcony. Majority of the staff is terrific and very accommodating. This particular ship or trip we feel, is more designed for singles, groups of young couples, etc. who like to party a lot. It makes no sense to close down the waterslide everyday at 5, spend only a few hours in ports, etc. May I add again, the coffee is awful. Food was good, not exceptional.

Cruisin with the Family by KatieC2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We were very impressed with the Glory when we arrived at the port in Canaveral. We easily boarded the boat and were ready to set sail in no time. We had preordered a crib - which was not in our room - which posed a problem. However, by nightfall the crib was in place and the rest of the week went by without a hitch - - - other than the time by husband got food poisoning and was quarantined.

Ship was kept very clean. Team members were always eager to help and greeted you everytime they walked by you. Cruise director was very excited and would get everyone else that way. The shore excurisions were all great that we did. We had a great trip and everyone seemed to work hard to make sure we did.

Can't wait until my next cruise! by ChrisV3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I was on Carnival's ship "Glory" on the 7 day Western Caribbean tour. Checking in was kind of disorganized and way too many places you had to get in line to complete that check-in process that seemed unnecessary. But, the ship was very nice, the buffet food for breakfast was much better than the food in the main dining room, so the majority of the time we just ate there. Their dinner in the main dining room was very good and of course, the waiters and staff were wonderful. The best was the premium dinner that cost an extra $30 per person in their "exclusive" dining room, it was worth every penny of the money. The land excursions were great and the room with the ocean view window was great also. Overall, the trip was a huge success!

Food Disappointing by RayM7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Glory / Destination: Caribbean - Western

If someone is looking for an economy cruise, this would be ok. We have traveled on several different cruise lines, including Carnival, and were disappointed. The ship, Glory, appeared "worn" for its age. The food was marginal, but the service was excellent. The casino staff was excellent as well. The gym facilities were exceptional. We will choose a more "upscale" ship in the Carnival line or another cruise line for our next cruise.
