Great customer service. The people.on the ship made it fun and are there to make sure you have a good time. Wish the boat would have been bigger does rock a little.

Had a good time and would go again. by jjjjjjjj

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My older teens and I really enjoyed the cruise and the ports of call. Food was good, casino staff, restaurant staff and cabin stewards were excellent at remembering names, Cruise Director Wee Jimmy was quite entertaining...I just wish there had been more variety in the daytime activities onboard and that there were more water slides or a ropes course outside. The comedy club was also great. This was my second cruise on Carnival, but first time to Roatan and Belize, and I'd take another one but would try a different ship next time.

Good cruise by marialyce

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall this was a good cruise.  The atmosphere was happy and the whole operation ran smoothly. There were a lot of good choices for things to do on excursion days.  I liked the burrito bar and deli bar as well.  I made a nice change from the dining room.

Carnival Freedom cruise by pac33

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The music played over the speaker system was noticeably awful.  Played in the rear pool area, buffet eating areas and through out the ship.

The same acoustic entertainment every night in the Atrium was disappointing.  Acoustic Country is not what every passenger wants to hear every night.  And because it was in the Atrium it echoed up to all decks and any rooms that were near.  Very bothersome.  The music got old in a hurry as it was played every night.

Overall the staff was great and accommodating.  Except for one interaction with a female employee at the Customer Service desk regarding our bill.  Attitude was rude.

Pizza station and Burger station were phenomenal!

Good experience by georgiaroth

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I'm not a cruiser, first time Ive went- a few too many people for me.

But, The saving grace was two staff members, bar waiter Javani (Jabani- can't remember the spelling) who was wonderful from the casino and dining room; and bartender Stanislav from the EA sports bar- thanks so much for a wonderful representation of your country and the cruise line. If not for you  two I would've considered this trip a loss

Great Staff that gives Great Customer Service by terrajones81

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

This was my 1st cruise and I have never received care like this before. Dan And Daniel made sure we had everything we wanted and needed. Breakfast and lunch was great as well. They remembered our name and how we liked things during the 6:00 dinner. I found that to be very exceptional. I will be traveling with carnival again.

We had a WONDERFUL time on Carnival Freedom.  Great food, lots of entertainment to keep yourself busy, and no one should cruise without a balcony. We had a wonderful time, I think anyone who loves travel should try this.

Everyone who works with Carnival are very nice.  The ship is clean and the food is great.  The only complaint I would have is that their coffee sucks....

This was not a vacation!!! by texas3843

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The TV screen was actually a computer monitor, the ship (Freedom) needs to be updated, the food was not great and the waitstaff had attitudes, and kids were getting into fights on the ship.

Excellent Vacation! by manuelgarcia87

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My wife and I went on our first cruise on July 4, 2015 and although we missed the fireworks or didn't get to see any on the boat we sure enjoyed every minute of it. There weren't too many negative things I could say besides wishing it would have lasted longer. Great people were on the ship so we would definitely do it again.

Great time for a great price by joberg344

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My husband and I took this cruise, for a much-needed vacation.  I had been to Cozumel a few times, but never to Jamaica or Grand Cayman.  The ship was fine...definitely not one of the more luxurious Carnival ships, but it was just fine.  The crew was good enough.  It always makes me sad to see the things they have to grin and bear when dealing with some passengers!  Our cabin was small, but clean.  We had a balcony room, and by allowing Carnival to pick it for us we were nearly directly in the middle of the boat.  I would recommend that passengers not stay on Deck 8, as you do get the noise of kids running on the Lido deck above.  The food was, as usual, very good.  In fact, Guy's Hamburgers made the best burgers we've ever had, off or on a boat!  We were seated with four lovely couples at dinner, and closed the place every night, just visiting and getting to know one another, and plan to stay in touch via email and social media.   Montego Bay was a huge disappointment, in that it is such a poor area, and we were literally afraid of some of the people at times.  I would not go back to that port.  Grand Cayman was amazing.  It was clean, friendly, and had great shopping and adventures.  We did the Helmet dive, and I cannot speak highly enough about the people who took care of us on this Carnival excursion.  It was absolutely amazing!  In Cozumel, we took the recommendation of one of the Freedom staff, and went to a hotel for the day, with full use of the beach, showers, restrooms, internet, and a restaurant and bar.  It was the most relaxing day!  All said, this was just what I needed to get away from my very stressful job, and my husband and I were both extremely satisfied with the trip.

Another Fantastic cruise with Carnival by dmiller1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Great food, service, shows, and experience. Highly recommend it. Enjoyed the nightly dinners in the dining room, and our waiter staff was amazing. We even went to the dining room for brunch on time and it was terrific. Even though the buffets are fantastic, and fresh, visiting the dining rooms is a great experience to try. The shows were terrific, really enjoyed all of them. The staff was very helpful and polite at all times. We did the FTTF, it was nice getting on the ship early and being able to get off early.

Just ok... by juliemarso

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I dont want to damper anyones vacation planning because maybe cruising just isn't for me.  If you are doubting a cruise then follow your heart and just dont go or at least take a short one.  7 days in hell was too long for me.   If you want a vacation that consists of moping around with not much to do, "lame quizzes" and "Name that 80's tune or movie theme", nap times and just lounging around then this vacation is for you!  The food is not that great if you are from southwest Louisiana (or anywhere in Louisiana for that matter)...if you are told you are getting an onboard credit you better confirm with Carnival BEFORE you get on the boat because i DIDNT get mine, after standing in line half the time i was on my vacation with customer service.  Dont wear the patches for seasickness unless you want diarrhea the whole time and if the weather strikes unexpectedly, dont be surprised if your excursion gets cancelled.  First and last cruise for me.  It was just awful! i wouldnt go on another cruise if it was free.  Take my advice, just go to Disney!

PS.  the whole 24 hour buffett did not exist on the Freedom.  we could pass by at 3 or 4 in the afternoon and there was no food out.  very disappointing and we spent a lot of money for nothing.

Nice Cruise by michaelw421

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall a very good experience. The only reason for not giving five stars is that the safety briefing in the conducted had the guests and personnel standing for about 40 minutes waiting with 2 minutes of safety instructions. This is not very good as the attention is zero after such a long wait. Service, food was very good.

Had fun, but was a little disappointed. by jeffandang0873

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

We had fun and we were glad to have the experience of a cruise under our belts. However, I am not sure that it was worth the money we spent and I certainly would never call a cruise an all inclusive vacation again!  That's only if you sit on the boat, don't drink anything but water and never leave the ship.  Otherwise you are going to be paying for everything that they can think of to charge you for.  I have quite the knowledge of what the markup is on sodas and alcohol in dining establishments and for what they charge for those "extras" they are raking in a tidy profit.  I felt that I was also misled on the Camp Ocean for kids.  Instead of spending the day there.  You have to keep running back and forth to pick them up for the closing times.  So it was really more like 2-3 hour blocks of time rather than all day.  They didn't open until 10 am on most days and then they closed for 2 hours at lunch and dinner and they again at 10 unless you wanted to pay extra for babysitting.  All of the fun stuff is at that time too, so you either skip it or pay.

Worst Trip by jenniferta71

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Freedom / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

NOT RECOMMENDED TO ANYONE TO BOOK THIS TRIP. WE WERE TOLD FROM TRAVEL AGENT THAT WE RECEIVED BIG DISCOUNT BUT LATER ON, WHEN WE WERE ON CRUISE, WE WERE CHARGED FOR THE EXTRA GRATUITIES BECAUSE THE TRAVEL AGENT DID NOT ADD IT ON AS REQUESTED FROM THE BEGINNING. MOREOVER, WE HAVE FAMILY OF 9 AND REQUESTED TO HAVE DINNER TIME AS EARLY AT 6:00 PM AND WANTED TO SIT ON THE SAME TABLE, BUT THE TRAVEL AGENT DID NOT REQUEST WITH CRUISE AND FINALLY, WE WERE SEPARATED INTO MANY DIFFERENT PLACES FAR AWAY FROM EACH OTHERS. THE ISSUES KEEP CONTINUING ONE TO ANOTHER, WE PAID FOR THE PRICE OF OCEAN VIEW FOR MY PARENTS AND THE CABIN THEY ASSIGNED FOR THEM WAS AT VERY LAST END OF THE SHIP. IT WAS ROCKING AND SHAKING AT NIGHT AND THEY COULDN'T SLEEP. AFTER MAKING MANY COMPLAINTS TO THE GUEST SERVICE ON CRUISE, FINALLY THEY MOVED MY PARENTS TO ANOTHER CABIN TO REST. FOR MY CABIN, WE GOT AIR CONDITIONING ISSUE ON THE VERY 1ST DAY OF CHECKING IN, TOO. THERE WAS NO AIR INSIDE MY CABIN, WE CALLED GUEST SERVICE AND REQUEST 8 TIMES, NO ONE TAKEN CARE OF IT. WE SLEPT IN THE CABIN FOR 3 DAYS WITH THE TEMPERATURE HOT INSIDE CABIN. AGAIN, AFTER MAKING THE LAST COMMUNICATION AND ASKING FOR THE PERSON FROM UPPER MANAGEMENT TO GET INVOLVED, THEN WE WERE MOVED TO ANOTHER CABIN NEXT TO MY PARENTS. IT WAS HORRIBLE ..

This cruise was lots of fun for my family.  We have an 11 year old and she enjoyed camp carnival.  It was super nice to be able to leave her in the evenings to enjoy "date nights."
