A relaxing cruise by TriciaH

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

When we first saw the ship it was a Wow! It was fairly a large ship (2400 passengers). Everything was always very clean and the staff very friendly. I love to see where the crew is from and listen to therr accents. We attended most of the evening shows and had fun. The hypotist was the best!! There was always room on deck to find a lounge chair to read or take a nap. I even had a hot stone massage which was great!! This cruise fit the bill on my pocketbook and relaxation level.

A great relaxing getaway! by CarolW9

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

The layout of the ship is great. It was easy to get to the different areas with out any trouble. Even though it is a large ship we never got lost. The food was outstanding in the dinning room and the Tiffany Buffet. We really had a great relaxing time. We even won at the casino!

Very Relaxing by AmandaC6

The ship was so big! I always got lost, :D , but overall we really loved it! I wish there was a bigger pool, the size of the pools were a slight letdown.

A nice cruise by BlancaC2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

Carnival Elation was a nicely decorated ship, reminded me of a casino in Las Vegas. Clean and staff was friendly. There was a slight fishy smell near our cabin. The sit down dinner schedule was messed up because it put half our family at 6PM and the other half at 8PM. We just did not want to stand in line to change. The Tiffany dinning room food was not that tasty. The oriental noodles and rice was under cooked. The lines were long and slow. The deserts were great. Coffee was good and pastries. overall I enjoyed my cruise even though we could not go to Cabo.

beautiful ship, wonderful staff by MyraM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

this is our first cruise, so we have no idea what to expect or compare it too. I have to say that our Maitre' D and his assistants were wonderful and very impressive by remembering our names and friendly. The atmosphere is excellent, people coming from all over the world. But after being in the ship for two days, I started to feel homesick especially that we did not get to land to Cabo, especially we payed for it. So it made a lot of us depressed. Arriving to Ensanada was not that exciting as it is quite like San Diego. I feel like the director could have compensated us for missing out on Cabo.

Great Relaxing Vacation! by LydaL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

This was a great cruise to go on. If all you want to do is hang out and sun tan. Although you get one day on shore, they provide great activites when on the boat. We met alot of people because of that. I would however recommend better food. I ended up sampling everything instead of really digging in my food. The layout is alittle confusing and you might get lost if you don't know where your going.

The Best Vacation Ever! by VanessaD2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

Yes, I recommend the ship, especially the quality of serivice it contained. The ship was nice and big, there were many places on the top decks to lay out and enjoy the ocean view. In addition, the interior was beautiful and there was always something to do, look at or just relax in. Nevertheless, the pools were not big enough to enjoy, so we never swam in them, but we did use the jacuzzis.

my summer vacation by RoseV

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

On a four day San Diego to Cabo San Lucas mid -August, there were so many children and such a mixed bag of adults we were in culture shock. The music was geared to wild boars. We were on the very front of the ship, yet were put in the dining room in the evening at the opposite end of the ship. Note: we are 70 years old. We were put at a table with a man and his wife from India in native garb who we could not understand. We had to wait over an hour to disemback the ship because at least twenty non=citizens did not appear in the auditorium to meet the customs agents for clearance. Surely there is a better way to handle this matter. On the plus side, the staff was nice, the food was nice.Future customers should be notified that summertime is NOT the time to take a cruise as children are out of school. .

Best vacation ever! by LizM1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

We absolutely recommend the Carnival Elation Baja 5 night cruise! We had so much fun! Our eight year old son was in heaven witht he water slide, Camp Carnival, and other children activities. My husband and I enjoyed the ship activities such as Bingo, Hypnotist show, etc. The two stops we made were just beautiful. Cruising along the coast is a must! We even saw whales and seals swimming next to us. We highly recommend this cruise and the wonderful staff! Thanks again!

The best way to travel! by SavannaT

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

Our cruise director, Stu made the trip complete! Him and all of the staff were wonderful. The ship was always very clean with house keeping stopping by 3-4 times a day. The shows, especially the hypnotist, were great entertainment. And all of the cruise activities were great for those that wanted to get involved.

A nice time by KeliL

The ship is older and could use some 'exciting' updates, but was very clean and the beds were far more comfortable than I remember cruise beds to be.

Fabulous Experience! by DawnV

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

The Carnival Elation had a wonderful mix of entertainment places for the entire family....right down to a card room for those families who just wanted to spend some good old fashioned quality time together. They had several dance clubs, a large casino with a variety of the most popular games, a fantastic karaoke club, a wonderful lounge theatre for live shows, and many, many food bars from which to choose a plethora of foods from around the world. The staff was always friendly and willing to assist. The crew was professional and focused on safety to ensure a great time at sea.

"Not here to make friends" by CarrieB

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

My husband and I went on this cruise (our first) to see what being on a ship was all about. We had no intentions of meeting anyone. We had not planned an excursion so we could check things out (Cabo). We ended up meeting some of the funniest, silliest, and friendliest people we had ever met.

A critical look at Baja California by JamesG13

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Elation / Destination: Mexico

I have been on one other cruise in the golf of Mexico on another cruise line. Carnival is crawling with children that are not supervised by parents. The shows were boring and the activities were lacking. Worst of all the food offered was substandard. They all say you go on the cruise for the food, not so here. I recommend not using Carnival if you dont want to participate on others floating daycare and I highly recommend staying in the Golf of Mexico where you will see vegetation and the water is safer.
