Review summary

The Carnival Elation had a wonderful mix of entertainment places for the entire family....right down to a card room for those families who just wanted to spend some good old fashioned quality time together. They had several dance clubs, a large casino with a variety of the most popular games, a fantastic karaoke club, a wonderful lounge theatre for live shows, and many, many food bars from which to choose a plethora of foods from around the world. The staff was always friendly and willing to assist. The crew was professional and focused on safety to ensure a great time at sea.

They did a fantastic job on the food quality for the amount of people it served at each meal. The chef always had special choices each night for dinner, but they always had the classic meals for those who did not have a very broad palette of food likes.

Entertainment

The live performances at the Mikado Lounge showroom were fantastic. The two singers could have been used a lot less....but overall, great time!

Service and Staff

At each entertainment place I visited, there was at least one crew member/staff who came over and spoke to me. I made several friends with the crew and they were always helpful, friendly, and had a great attitude.

Smaller than some Carnival cruise ships, but very functional.

Cabin / Stateroom

The rooms were small, but extremely functional....and with the amount of entertainment daily on the boat, people really only used their cabin for dressing, showering, and sleeping.

Ensenada, Mexico

Easy access to the main shopping and dining in Ensenada....$2 to get to town, $1 back to the ship.

I ate at the Office....although many others spent time at Nikki Beach and said that was fabulous. The water taxis literally dump you at the beach....i.e. you have to jump from the front of the boats to get to shore. No help....

Pros: Unlike other cruise lines, the Carnival funships are truly that.....absolutely FUN for the entire family! No matter what age, the Carnival staff and crew made each individual feel special in their own way!

Cons: I only took a 5 day trip.....but should have booked a longer cruise....
