Great time by mejiamaria17

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Absolutely loved our destinations.  The wait and housekeeping staff were very attentive and friendly they took the time to get to know my whole party of 7.  The food was exceptional which was better than my last carnival experience.  Entertainment was amazing.  Great trip.

Relaxation by Vivienne21

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Loved the cruise director Josh. Loved the variety of entertainment every night.

Just don't appreciate the set amount of gratuity that we had to pay and we did not know ahead of time. Didn't like the small room but it was clean Love

Our First Cruise by LalaJay07

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

You have to work to find the better food restaurants, but once you do, they are great. Staff is amazing and and very helpful along the way. I would recommend this cruise to a friend.

Carnival Conquest by innavilla

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Bahamas

This is my second Carnival Cruise ship. I was previously in Carnival Triumph. To me, Conquest was almost exactly the same as Triumph. Our overall trip with Conquest was just "okay". Nothing better than the first cruise. I felt that there was less entertainment, the shows in the big auditorium was the exact same as our triumph cruise. Nothing new and exciting. Food was about a 6-7/10. We were planning on having dinner at the Steakhouse, but cancelled it because the time overlapped with the shows we wanted to see. We ended up in the regular Renoir dining room and ate a steak there anyway. The steak at the regular dining room was amazing, we were very glad that we didnt pay for the $35 per head Steakhouse.

I feel that once youve had a Carnival experience, nothing would surprise you or get you excited about further carnival cruises. I noticed little things that showed Carnival may be saving money, such as cheap quality napkins (utensils that come with the Guy's burger joint).  Our service during the stand up comedy show was very poor. It was very obvious that the servers prioritize only those who are ordering drinks. We had just finished eating and didnt want to order drinks , so only asked for water. We actually had to ask for water 4 times from 4 different people before we got water. While people who ordered drinks received their drinks almost immediately.

I would recommend Carnival for first time cruisers, but not to those who have cruised in the past.

Carnival was aweful by kathybesafe

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

so we wont be going on this line again and no one cared that we were unhappy with our treatment I Have cruised a lot but  this is my first experience with Carnival and it will be my last   I am not a mean person but I was so disappointed with every thing on this cruise.  The only thing I liked was the Faster to the fun option which cost 50 .00 it was great  we got on right away and didn't have to stand in long lines  but then then lost my husbands bag until after dinner and we were suppose to have our bags first.... the food was aweful  we had opted to do several excursions and all of them got cancelled for lack of participation except one on the private island  and they didn't let us know unitll after we had gone to bed the night before on 3 different days and on 2 days we were up till 2 am  so I that was bs... we didn't have time to make other arrangements for other excursions.... they kept reheating the food we had the night before in the dining room the next day that's was on the buffet and it tasted like Golden Corral  food  in the dinig room the 1st night so you could imagine what it was like the next day  yuk  find a Royal or Holland or Norwegian to cruise on much better experience

First Time Fun and Surprises by dcelestin

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Pros:

lots to do, lots to eat, or just relax and do nothing

variety of shore excusions

Cons:

not all-inclusive... additional costs add up

noise from engines/propellers

overpriced excursions...  you pack 15-20 people into a mini-bus at $50+ for what amounts to a very expensive "1.5hr cab ride"

Suggestions:

could do a better job of identifying whats not included

provide menu in advance so we know what's free and what comes with a cost

flag rooms that have potential high levels of noise

discount package pricing for excusions... priced for 1, 2-3, 4-5, 6-9, 10+

Our 1st Carnival Cruise with the teens by davidmihalko

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Overall we had an excellent vacation!! There were 2 things that I would change:

1. returning from half moon cay was a very lengthy ordeal. There were only 2 shuttle boats running. 2. The other thing I would do differently is have a full day at sea the first full day instead of the last day. The teens were a little bored that last day. The pools were crowded and it was very hot. The food was excelllent. We were in the Monet restaurant and out waiter and their staff was great!!!! Loved the little shows they put on too! It was my husbands and daughters birthday while on the cruise. They has a few surprises for them which was really nice. I would like free wi-fi for txting on the ship. These days that is what teens do. It's easier to keep track of where the kids are if we could txt.

Fun family adventure by southerngirl66

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Enjoyed cruising with my family on Carnival Conquest.  I have cruised on 5 other Carnival ships.  Took a little while to understand the lay-out of the ship, ie how to get from our cabin at the front of the ship to the dining room at the back of the ship.  Common areas inside the ship were cramp.  For example when people were shopping at the Pixels studio and hall outside of gift shop it was difficult to walk pass the other guest.  Just not enough space.  Really liked the cabins and the refrigerator in the cabins.  Dinner and wait staff was excellent.  We did have a few occasions where we ordered drinks at the pool and the server never returned with the drinks.  Loved the private island and Grand Turk.  Been to Nassau a few times, and it is just not one of my favorite ports, but most eastern Caribbean cruises stop there.  Disembarkation took longer than usual.   Overall fun cruise.

Ship needs updating by sweetwreck2002

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Even though I had a great experience I noticed many parts of the ship in need of updating.  Paint chipping off in many areas, color schemes out of date, broken deck chairs, dirty ceiling tiles.

Grand Turk was beautiful, however, I was disappointed that access to the actual town was unavailable without a costly taxi ride.

I will cruise Carnival again!!

Supper family by nancypat05

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

My favor part was the animation specially the Diva shows. I'm not sure of making recommendation because it was my first cruise and there was a lot unpleasant experience with some of my family that cruise with me. Additional training should be provided specially to does staff member with poor English to be sure that they will be able to assist guess and not provide or not not the guess questions.

Cruise met expectations by snazzynazzy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall was great. Some areas such as food quality and service in dining room needs to be improved. Destinations were excellent with the exception of Belize City which was very dirty, garbage strewn every where during top 10 tour. Would certainly stop at Gran Cayman - Georgetown in the future. Need to figure out how to get people of the ship quicker.

Western Paridise by lapijosh16

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I should have traveled on the carnival breeze because that is what the conquest was really....A Breeze. Everything was so easy from landing at the airport till the time the cruise was over all we needed to do was have fun while carnival and the conquest family did the heavy lifting. This cruise is excellent for first time cruisers or young adults who just want to have fun.

Carnival Conquest by pinellasparkpat

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

Extremely friendly staff. Food and staff in dining room were excellent. Destinations and shore excursions were great for our family. Ship was a bit crowded and pools were too small. Food and lines for the buffet did not meet our expectations.

Highlights: Riviera Maya - Cozumel. Stingray encounter - Georgetown Grand Cayman by Cruiser8387993

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Western

1 Mainland Trip had fantastic underground caves, beautifully clear water, bats living in the ceilings, stalactites, stalagmites. Then Paradise lagoon snorkelling among amazingly colourful fish. Finished with a gorgeous Mexican beachside lunch.

2 Stingray encounter and turtle swim, Georgetown in Grand Cayman island - The crew were wonderfully friendly, helpful and gave us refreshments. Once in the shallow sea (sand banks) the beautiful stingrays were plentiful and would swim around gently. The crew helped if you wanted to stroke or feed them. They felt soft just like velvet and were very calm and gentle.

These were our favourite excursions. The ship was just great. Lovely staff throughout. Good food and excellent service. Staterooms very comfortable.

Loved it. Highly recommend this itinerary. Thank you XxLove

Ports great, ship ok, ft. Lauderdale port horrible by msgibson1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Ship was boring except for comedy shows on board. All the ports were nice. Puerto rico was my favorite. The cruise port in ft. Lauderdale was the worse port ever after 6 cruises. It took about 2 1/2 hours to check in amd get on board. I will never cruise out of that port again. Overall good relaxing vacation

Worst experience ever by arminapasic68

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Carnival Conquest / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I have bin cruising with Carnivall for years and Carnival Conquest was my worst experience.  We eat the same food every single day. My friends payed $440 to have 15 drinks per day and if they ordered drinks they had to wait 10 min to order another one. Visits to the ports were unbelievably short and I don't even want to talk about waiting an hour or two to get out of the ship. One time I asked the guy who cleaned our room to give me a beach towels he told me 'I gave you yesterday. ". When we were ordering Drinks we waited at list 20 min to get them. I can go on and on and on with this bad review. However this cruise doesn't worth your money.

I am definitely switching to Royal Caribbean.
