Cruise tips
Loved this island. Went to Sapphire beach very relaxing. Taxi ride $15 each way per person.
Live near here. Wonderful port.
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas
Riding a tender is not one of my favorites. The island is so far behind other cruise ships private island. Only a beach and not enough umbrellas. We were lucky because it was a mix of sun and clouds, but on a hot summer day…you will roast. The lines for food and drink were between 30-60 minutes.
Tortola, British Virgin Islands
Walked into port. Nothing special. Hours are horrible for this port 6am-1pm. So going to a beach or touring the island is impossible.
Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic
First time here. Loved the pool area and lazy pool. Wished they had slides or more activities. It is still being worked on…so we will see next time!
Norwegian Escape
I know everyone recommends to make reservations as soon as possible. If you want to eat without waiting or being shut out of a specialty restaurant do before boarding or before 2 on the ship. Please bring money for extra tips…staff works hard for you and all the guests.
Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic
It was overcrowded. Two ships that day. Luckily we were first off and were able to get chairs and umbrellas.
Again okay. Sand is very thin and rocks in the water. We saw a couple people fall down. The public bathrooms on beach were disgusting…had to go to Margaritaville.
It was okay. Went to fort and got in a weeks worth of steps. Then walked around the promenade.
Live here.
Mardi Gras
Take stairs as much as possible….elevators get crowded. Also beware because of the hands free bathroom and people not know how to lock them…you will walk in on those using it!
To many people trying to sell you weed. Beach and island was very dirty
Norwegian Breakaway
Fun ship so make the best of it!
It was so crowded. 8 ships in that day. Went to Playa Mia very disappointed.
Loved it
Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas
Beautiful beach. Plenty of places to eat and drink
Love Port Canaveral. From there.
We took a $10 cab ride to Condado Beach. Very small, but fairly empty $20 to rent two chairs. We stayed for a bit and headed back to Old San Juan where we ate street food, and shopped.
Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic
Nice port area with a lazy pool, slides, zip line, food and drinks.
Took a taxi $10 per person to Coral World. $20 entry fee. It was rather small. We live In Orlando, so...it is not a Sea world. We did have fun feeding the birds and watching them feed the fish and sharks. We went next door to Coki Beach and it was wall to wall people. We then took a taxi $10 to Sapphire beach where we ate and spent time on beach...not as crowded.
Carnival Breeze
Bring patience...it can get busy for lido, bar, and coffee shop. Have fun!!
Mahogany Bay, Roatan, Bay Islands, Honduras
Beautiful Beach...no excursion necessary. Beach and shops all in walking distance.
Went on Ah Tulum Ruins tour. It was informative. If you go...bring bug spray!
Carnival Miracle
Go to comedy club early for shows. Participate in the fun activities and have a blast.
Loved this port. Our excursion was cancelled because not enough people. We took a bus tour off the ship which was a lot of fun and cheap.
Took a cab to Tequila Beach. It was great we practically had beach to ourselves.
Carnival Sunshine
Have fun and take peoples reviews with a grain of salt. Don’t do anytime dining. Just go and enjoy
Embarkation was a breeze. Appt. was 11:30-12 we got there at 11:15 and on board at 11:30. Disembarkation was not so expedient. Not sure if it was Carnival’s fault or the port but it took us close to an hour once they call our names to get to our luggage.
We have been here before. We did some snorkeling and played in water. Sand in ocean is like quick sand...not a fan. Also I hate you have to trek down near Jack’s Shack to be away from the crowd. Drinks and food were pricey.
