Review summary

Carnival Breeze was a nice clean ship, friendly outgoing staff. A lot of fun activities, good to great food, nice ports. We were a family of five with two cabins 6426 and 2399. Me, husband, son, daughter-in-law and 3 year old granddaughter. Granddaughter loved the pool and water play area. Only went to kids camp once for about 30 minutes. The production shows were not very good. Comedians were mostly funny. Only went to adult shows. We had the drink package which paid for itself more than once. We had a great time and I do recommend this ship and Eastern Caribbean itinerary to everyone. Any questions, I will try and answer.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Food I. Dining room was good. Our waiter Madi was wonderful. Suggested the best drinks and was on point with our pickiest eater. Buffet food was just that buffet food. Lines were always long. Guys Burger always a crowd favorite. Blue Iguana Catina great tacos and burritos. Seafood shack fries were delicious.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Loved the games, trivia, comedians and dance parties. So fun!

Entertainment

3 out of 5
Comedians were good, music around the ship was good, but I did not like the playlist productions.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Everyone from the room stewards, waiters, bar staff, Fun squad and guests services all get a five star rating.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Very clean, bright airy, plenty of outdoor space. Really nice ship!

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
We had heard it might be noisy because the galley is just above. This room is just off enough as we heard nothing morning noon or night. Loved the cove balcony never in the hot sun and private because of the lifeboats overhead. Being on 2 made getting off the boat really easy at Ports. If you rely on elevators, pick another floor. Barely came down to 2, we used the stairs to go to deck five.

Ship tip

Bring patience...it can get busy for lido, bar, and coffee shop. Have fun!!

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

5 out of 5
Embarkation was a breeze. Appt. was 11:30-12 we got there at 11:15 and on board at 11:30. Disembarkation was not so expedient. Not sure if it was Carnival’s fault or the port but it took us close to an hour once they call our names to get to our luggage.

Grand Turk Island

3 out of 5
We have been here before. We did some snorkeling and played in water. Sand in ocean is like quick sand...not a fan. Also I hate you have to trek down near Jack’s Shack to be away from the crowd. Drinks and food were pricey.

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

5 out of 5
Took a taxi $10 per person to Coral World. $20 entry fee. It was rather small. We live In Orlando, so...it is not a Sea world. We did have fun feeding the birds and watching them feed the fish and sharks. We went next door to Coki Beach and it was wall to wall people. We then took a taxi $10 to Sapphire beach where we ate and spent time on beach...not as crowded.

Amber Cove (Puerto Plata), Dominican Republic

5 out of 5
Nice port area with a lazy pool, slides, zip line, food and drinks.

San Juan, Puerto Rico

5 out of 5
We took a $10 cab ride to Condado Beach. Very small, but fairly empty $20 to rent two chairs. We stayed for a bit and headed back to Old San Juan where we ate street food, and shopped.

Disembarkation

It took a while to get off the ship once our number was called about an hour. We stood in line and snaked around from the forward elevators through the lobby. Once we were off, grab a porter, got our luggage and away we went.

We’re staying on deck 2 (2307) for the first time in June 2020. Usually stay higher up. We almost always walk, so elevators aren’t an issue. Thanks for the reassurance of booking deck 2! Can’t wait!!!!!
