Review summary

It was a fun trip. We love cruising. I hope Norwegian steps up it’s game to provide fun activities to a wider variety of people, higher more staff for dining and rethink their venue sizes for the amount of people on the ship.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
We had 11 embarkation. Pretty much walked right on. Very efficient.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
There was really a lack of variety on the menus. I am a picky eater and found it hard to find entrees that I like. Everyone else in our party of nine loved the food. I gave it 3 stars because it took 2 hours plus to get through dinner in all venues we ate at. The restaurants are way understaffed. Norwegian needs to spend some of their increase prices on hiring more staff. Bartenders were great despite a sold out ship.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
The activities were minimal except bingo and deal or no deal. They had them at least once a day. Art Auction, sales at on board shops are not activities. They had some trivia, but not for everyone. The trivia was geared to speciality…for instances Harry Potter, Cat and Dog breeds. Where is general trivia for the masses?

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Choir of Man was good. Most in our group liked the magician, music around the ship was always good.

Children's Programs

Our teens were not interested

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
All staff were nice, friendly, and worked their butts off.

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
The venues for activities…other than the theater were too small for the size of this ship. You either didn’t get in or couldn’t see from the back.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Balcony seemed smaller than on other ships, but could be my imagination. Bed comfortable, plenty of places to hang and store clothes, and no problems with a/c.

Ship tip

I know everyone recommends to make reservations as soon as possible. If you want to eat without waiting or being shut out of a specialty restaurant do before boarding or before 2 on the ship. Please bring money for extra tips…staff works hard for you and all the guests.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Live near here. Wonderful port.

Puerto Plata, Dominican Republic

First time here. Loved the pool area and lazy pool. Wished they had slides or more activities. It is still being worked on…so we will see next time!

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Loved this island. Went to Sapphire beach very relaxing. Taxi ride $15 each way per person.

Tortola, British Virgin Islands

Walked into port. Nothing special. Hours are horrible for this port 6am-1pm. So going to a beach or touring the island is impossible.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruise Line Private Island), Bahamas

2 out of 5
Riding a tender is not one of my favorites. The island is so far behind other cruise ships private island. Only a beach and not enough umbrellas. We were lucky because it was a mix of sun and clouds, but on a hot summer day…you will roast. The lines for food and drink were between 30-60 minutes.

Disembarkation

Our number was called and we walked right off. Got a porter who pushed us up the line through customs and home bound we were.
