Purser Flight Attendant for American Airlines. Did a 'Crossing' on the Queen Mary 2 back in 2008 with a friend, just recently did an Alaskan Cruise with some friends on HAL Eurodam, and getting ready to do another HAL Eurodam cruise in the Caribbean for the Master-Chef Cruise.

Been an awesome 13 days so far on this 21-day cruise. The crew have all been outstanding, and the ports have been amazing. Only 1 drizzly day so far, and that has been in St Thomas where the rain has been off and on throughout the day. Nothing one can do about that, but it’s been great experience. Have met many wonderful people, and look forward to keeping in contact with them after the cruise is over. Only aspect that was upsetting, even the the ship recently came out of dry-dock, the first week maintenance was working on one of the jacuzzis, and then the other one the 2nd week. Another passenger had to have their window replaced as it was fogged/dirty, and mildew was growing between the glass. They replaced the window in San Juan, but you would’ve thought that would’ve been taken care of while in dry-dock. Other than a few minor things, awesome experience!!!

Eurodam

November 2017 - 7 Night Eastern Caribbean (Ft. Lauderdale Roundtrip) Cruise on Eurodam

Despite Hurricane damage and rough seas, Great trip

The Crew and Staff of the Eurodam were amazing as always. Some confusion regarding the MasterChef events as none of the HAL people knew what was going on, all MasterChef events were done separately and independently. Very upset over this as this was not clearly indicated, and HAL and travel agent didn't know that if one wanted to participate, you could only do the events going through the Life Events/MasterChef website....or you would have had to cancel your current reservation, including cancellation fee, then rebook through MasterChef, OR pay an additional $900 to ALL events, not purchase different events ala cart as the website suggested.

August 2017 - 7 Night Alaskan Explorer Via Glacier Bay (Seattle Roundtrip) Cruise on Eurodam

Alaskan Cruise

Being with a larger group, we had a great time. Dinning was wonderful, we were able to eat at the same time every night, at same table. Met so many wonderful regulars, just wish we met them earlier in the week. Don’t like that the photography folks try to get you every port for an additional charge/photo. I know some people want to experience their first time, however the photos were a bit much.

Queen Mary 2

October 2008 - 6 Night Eastbound Transatlantic (New York to Southampton) Cruise on Queen Mary 2

Crossing on the Queen Mary 2

Loved the ship. Enjoyed the awesome food, and the staff made everyone welcomed. Get to know when/where the Friends of Dorothy meet, or ensure you are up early to enjoy some of the lectures the cruise line offers. (lost hours every night as we were going eastbound...now need to gain them back at some point! lol)

Get to know the layout. Do know your bar staff. Understand that if you go to the Mariners luncheon, get in line early, but do NOT block the elevators as people don't know there is a line forming behind them and up the stairs to go into the dining room.

Eurodam

Eurodam

Great staff, seems like there is plenty to do on the ship to keep everyone occupied.

Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island)

It’s little spot! Definitely buy the beverage package as the drinks will go down fast, and you can share with a friend. Finally some sun, so going back to Minnesota with a little sun will be great!

Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas

Fun town. Glad didn’t book any excursions since it was off and on rainy for the better part of the stop. The $25 island tour was well worth the price. Great to be back in STT as I was able to see my old layover hotel, and happy to see it seemed to have made it through the hurricanes.

Punta Cana, Dominican Republic

Couldn’t tender here since the water was too rough, so the Captain made the decision to have a Day at Sea and slowly make our way to St. Thomas. Luckily for us, it turned out to be better as the sun was out majority of the day.

Ft. Lauderdale (Port Everglades), Florida

Awful disembarkation process. Got in line at 7am for a 7:15 start, didn’t even start until 7:45. Then of course FLL US Customs took forever getting their computers set up, so took another 20minutes. Um, gee....isn’t this a Sunday where cruise ships come and go, so wouldn’t this be a weekly event?!

Grand Turk Island

We had overcast skies today, light drizzle, but the great folks of Grand Turks & Caicos made it worth the stop. Quaint shops, received the free trinkets, and of course good food at MargaritaVille.

Victoria, British Columbia

Fun little town. Try to find a quick bite and drink on such a short visit was hard, but well worth the walk around town.

Sitka, Alaska

Great to see that Sitka tries to rehabilitate young bears who were taken from their mothers.

Juneau, Alaska

Small quaint town. Glad we were the second ship in as once the other two ships joined, the town got a bit crowded.

Ketchikan, Alaska

Nothing like traveling from Amsterdam, seeing their Red Light District, to Ketchikans Red Light District. Fun to see the Salmon jumping up stream to spawn.

Eurodam

Eurodam

Get to know where and when the Happy Hours are. Seemed like everything is alacart, so be sure you know what you’re paying for before ordering.

Queen Mary 2

Queen Mary 2

Know where G32 is right away, and get to know your drink staff!
