Review summary

The Crew and Staff of the Eurodam were amazing as always. Some confusion regarding the MasterChef events as none of the HAL people knew what was going on, all MasterChef events were done separately and independently. Very upset over this as this was not clearly indicated, and HAL and travel agent didn't know that if one wanted to participate, you could only do the events going through the Life Events/MasterChef website....or you would have had to cancel your current reservation, including cancellation fee, then rebook through MasterChef, OR pay an additional $900 to ALL events, not purchase different events ala cart as the website suggested.

Embarkation

4 out of 5
Getting into the Port was a lot different experience than going into the Seattle port. Felt like we were going into an airport rather than in to a cruise port. A lot of checks and double checks of photo IDs including needing to show Passports BEFORE entering the terminal building. Not Holland America's Fault, or other Cruise lines, just Customs and Immigration.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Didn't remember to take all meals for review, however, didn't have many nights where we were disappointed. Except one night where there was a Stone Claw Crab and fried rice.....hard to get the meat out of the claw without proper utensils, and not enough food. However, every other night, the food was great!

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
Didn't really partake in a lot of activities. Just a lot of 'at sea' days due to rough seas or bad ports due to hurricanes.

Entertainment

5 out of 5
Didn't participate any main stage events, however, enjoyed B.B. King performers and Billboard's dueling piano's. Great entertainers!

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Room attendants, bar staff, and dining room staff were all excellent. Front of House Staff seemed uninterested in certain concerns, however, everyone else were amazing!

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship looked great. Didn't see much wear and tear as we saw on the Alaskan cruise, just simple weather related rust. Rooms were always clean as were the bathrooms on the ship, and all locations on the ship were very clean.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Great room, however you can hear everyone walk in the hallway and you can hear the mid-outside elevators as the room is on the end. When staff are bringing carts through the halls, you can hear the cart hit the mid ship beams, and the elevator clicks as it goes up and down. (that's the only bad thing)

Ship tip

Great staff, seems like there is plenty to do on the ship to keep everyone occupied.

Disembarkation

1 out of 5
Was suppose to start Disembarking at 07:15. Didn't start until 08:00 due to the Customs and Immigration not being open and/or ready. ummm....don't ships come and go every weekend, and majority of them try to get customers off their ships starting at 7am? so....one would think the Customs and Immigration would be ready. They weren't.
