Not the best. by ValerieCampbell

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ventura

A relatively good cruise however there were too many families on board for our liking, the pool felt a tad crowded and loud. We don’t normally go for the family ships (except Oceana) with P&O due to this. Some families were a tad ghastly but you can avoid them easily.

Breathtakingly beautiful most of time by shelleyhaines

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Ventura / Destination: Scandinavia

Before you go do your research on ports contact their tourist information for advice to make most of each port and get value for money. We had young children with us went to dinner early and this allowed us to see most of shows. The ship managed most of our expectations and the scenery was awe inspiring. Perfection would have been balcony room, more activities for older children, an excursion to Pulpit Rock and aquarium at Alusand, bigger pool and longer stay at Bergen.

Amazing by Jgroves

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Ventura / Destination: Scandinavia

Overall our cruise was very good. I loved how the staff treated us because we where very well looked after. I also loved seeing the ship go in and out of port. I also enjoyed the views that we got to see. It was also very quick to get in and out the ship which was good. I also liked how ther were so many seats outside. It was also very easy to get on at Southampton.

Amazing Fjords by jessicalily14

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Ventura / Destination: Scandinavia

The cruise was amazing, even on sea days there was lots to do. The destinations were excellent. The only downside was the cabin when the bunk beds were put down.

Absolutely loved it! by IanandCat4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ventura / Destination: Europe

We love Ventura, and enjoy cruising with P&O, wd we do those places again, no we wouldn't recommend those excursions. We are looking to booking on the Iona and we would certainly recommend the company and boat not places to visit.

Excellent week by tc3

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Ventura / Destination: Scandinavia

One of the best cruises we have had. The weather was excellent which always helps especially when the scenic views from the ship are so important. Service and food were of a high standard, all in all a great week.

Norwegian delight by Jobalsano

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Ventura

First time on a P&O ship and we were not disappointed. We have only sailed on RC before and they are different but we still loved every minute. The staff were great especially our room attend who couldn’t do enough for us. The bar staff were a little slow compared to RC but nothing worth complaining about. The food was good especially in the speciality dining.

Top tips for getting the... by PeteCoops

Sail date: /
Ship: Ventura

Top tips for getting the most out of Ventura and P&O. (1) Food, the buffet and the select dining are both very good, very different but good in their own right. The buffet is open from 06:30 to 01:30 so you eat all day night if you like. Top tip, the room service breakfast is included at no extra charge, wake up to coffee and a danish and then stroll down for a full English. (2) Costa, you can also get a Costa in the Red Bar and Metropolis Bar as well as the dedicated Costa bar when they’re open. (3) with a couple of exceptions you step out of the lift facing toward the front of the boat (helps get your bearings). (4) The drinks packages are over complicated with lots of exceptions and rules that in my opinion just make P&O sound mean, all they needed to add was a fair use clause. The Ultimate package costs £40 a day, this equates to... 3 pints beer, 3 cocktails and 3 costa coffees (Regular coffee is free in the buffet all day) OR 9 pints beer, OR 6 cocktails, OR 6 glasses of wine, give or take. Every adult in your cabin has to have the same package and there are exceptions for a couple of items but these are just the bottles of wine or the champagnes. (5) You’ll find hairdryer, shower gel/shampoo and towels for the pools/beach in your cabin as standard.

Good value Fjords cruise by yorghan1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Ventura / Destination: Scandinavia

Good value cruise. Prices on board for drinks about the same as at home, but duty free sports and cigarettes extremely cheap. Under £10 for 1ltr whisky or brandy and cigarettes about 1/3 of the price at home
