Review summary

We love Ventura, and enjoy cruising with P&O, wd we do those places again, no we wouldn't recommend those excursions. We are looking to booking on the Iona and we would certainly recommend the company and boat not places to visit.

Embarkation

5 out of 5
Southampton have embarkation down to a very slick quick process, that's why I don't often fly

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
Could not fault the food, loads of choices, all hot if needed to be, variety, and no complaints. However very noticeable that not many female waiters.

Poolside pizzeria and grill

5 out of 5

Fatal place..... Too nice, quick, efficient and yummy!

Bay Tree Restaurant

5 out of 5

Great variety any time of day and great service

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The few that we used were great, pools and libraries.

Laguna Pool

5 out of 5

Clean and allways space to sit nearby

Entertainment

5 out of 5
The comedian and the 4 tunes were brilliant, didn't see any others. The head of entertainment tho, when he speaks on the tannoy he needs to slow down, many of us said what the hell did he say!!

Atrium

2 out of 5

Where was it? So small and was not obvious it was an atrium, just smothered with shops.

Arena Theatre

5 out of 5

Lovely and spacious and great trays for your drinks.

Children's Programs

Children all left home.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Absolutely brilliant, especially Nora our cabin steward, friendly, brilliant standards, very obliging and great fun as well.

Ship Quality

4 out of 5
Good design, layout great, however I walk with 2 sticks and when you walked through the pool decks to get to restaurants, floor was wet and dangerous to walk on and could easily have fallen over, cos I am wearing stupid shoes. Some ships have a matting through the walk through that would help with this. Some corners of walls etc look a bit tired with scuffs and scratches. But generally a lovely ship.

Cabin / Stateroom

5 out of 5
Absolutely brilliant cleanliness and great to have a wall between bathroom and living area.

Ship tip

Don't try and do everything at once, make sure you plan some rest days otherwise you won't benefit from the experience.

Ports of call

Southampton (London), England Did not visit port

We left from there

Ijmuiden (Amsterdam)

1 out of 5
You have a journey to get in there first of approx an hour and the city is filthy, cigarette butt's everywhere, no bins, and stunk of a certain drug, the city is no longer cared for which was sad to see as we visited years ago and enjoyed it but won't be returning. However shuttle service was very efficient.

Bruges

2 out of 5
We planned to visit, but shuttle, then train then 45 minutes walk, too much for me to do with two sticks. We went to Blacken urg instead and easier journey, shuttle service great and driver brilliant.

St. Peter Port, Guernsey, Channel Islands Did not visit port

Because you put me off with the getting on and off the tender. We have been before so no great loss.

Disembarkation

5 out of 5
Brilliant, Southampton are so organised and so attentive to the less that mobile guests
