Fabulous cruise! by Coree

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship is huge and has everything anybody can ask for - excellent VIP service from the staff, great food, a lot of activities to suit everybody's taste or interest. Our room has so much space we can actually have another guest with us. Great view from our room of the outside. I thought I was scared of water, but no, not with this great experience. We'll do it again. Actually made deposit already for the next one.

Great Vacation by Mandy

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was my second cruise and I was very concerned with getting motion sick. I took Bonine which helped greatly but made me tired most of the trip. Ship is large with many places to eat, drink and just hang out. Staff is extremely friendly, always remembering your name, and very helpful. We chose to plan our own excursions which worked out well. In Barbados we spend $25 pp+ for a tour around the island, and a 2 hour stop at a beach. In St. Lucia we spent around $33pp for a tour as well as going to the volcano. The driver was not talkative and drove like a mad man. I might suggest going through the ship for that island. In Antigua we took a cab (14 round trip) to Jolly beach and had a great time. St. Martin we also took a cap to Orient beach for 12 round trip. Food is great on the ship, and there are alot of things to do is you can be as busy as you want. Internet is EXTREMELY slow so I wouldn't plan on writing alot to your friends. All in all I thought it was a great value and would go on a cruise again.

A Truly Memorable Trip by EarlB1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The Serenade of the Seas was a perfect ship to take our first cruise. From the start, the crew's main goal was to provide the best experience for the passengers and, in my opinion, they exceeded that goal. The ship had enough activities on board to provide ample entertainment when at sea. Whether it was trivia contests, musical entertainment, the casino (Casino Royale), the pools, the spa or numerous other activities, each was enjoyable. In addition to the plentiful activities, there was little to no waiting for what we wanted to do.

Best Vacation Ever!! by CassiP

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

This was our first Royal Caribbean cruise. The Serenade of the Seas was great. We were highly impressed with the overall service from all the staff. The use of stateroom television to check your account, review and purchase explorations was extremely helpful and saves alot of your vacation time.

A Spectacular Cruise! by StaciG

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

We scheduled our trip on the Serenade of the Seas about 1 year in advance, and we chose the Southern Caribbean for our 25th wedding anniversary. What a great choice, the ports were absolutely breathtaking. We loved the layout of the ship, everything was pretty easy to find. And If you did get stuck there were ship maps outside every elevator or on the elevator by floors. We really enjoyed the Fitness Center there was so much to choose from including classes similar to our workouts at home. The Spa was so relaxing, if you have never had a massage well now would be the time to try it. They offer specials onboard that you can't resist. Our outside stateroom was well equipped with plenty of storage and room under the beds for your empty luggage. The bathrooms were cozy with lots of lighting and a really nice adjustable shower head ( I am short my hubbby is tall). Our staterooom was always clean everytime we left and came back. The food was fabulous and so many choices, Breakfast was so delicious I loved their Bran muffins and the made to order omelets were sooo good. There was a huge selection of every kind of breakfast food from hot to cold that it made it hard to decide what to eat. The five ports of call were so breathtaking and beautiful I really didn't want to leave any of them. I was so happy to feel comfortable getting back on the ship with their state of the art security checks. We really enjoyed the group seating and met some really nice people from all over the world. Every night there was a show in the Theatre from comedy to broadway shows we looked forward to it and had some great laughs with the cruise director. There is so much to do on this ship you could never get bored, literally every hour there is something going on somewhere on the ship. Oh and the rock wall was so fun you need to try that on the day at sea it was super fun and a great challenge. We would definately sale this itinerary again!

Cant wait to go again! by ChristinaM5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

The ship was great. Had everything we needed or wanted, lots to do. I didn't review the ports, as the weather was not on our side and we didnt explore as much as we would've liked. The only thing I will say is this, there does seem to be a lot of pushing to shop shop shop. And although I love to shop, I realize that this is not my thing when cruising. Next time, I will book excursions or get tips on where/how to explore on my own, just relax on the beach, etc.

Good Cruise - Lousy Travel Agent by Janek11

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The captain was very skilled. He maneuvered the ship into amzing spaces for amazing views of Sawyer Glacier. The ship itself was nice but needed better maintenance. Several of the elevator call buttons did not work. There was only one hot small tub in the adults swim area and it was lukewarm, not hot.

RCI not our favorite, except for kids by GeneR1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The 7 day voyage to Alaska from Vancouver was fabulous from a scenic point of view, but the ship, well, we wouldn't return on this Royal Caribbean vessel. Our two girls (ages 11 and 15) had a grand time. The teenager found several friends and we rarely saw her thanks to the ships teen center. This was far superior to the Disney Cruise we did last year.

Alaskan Highlights! by TomD8

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Our first cruise as a family (wife, and boys 20, 17 and 14), and the first for my wife and me since 1986 (Does anyone remember Commodore Cruise Lines and the Caribe 1?), was an Alaska Inside Passage itinerary. The trip was a complete success. The boys quickly mastered the layout of the ship and the location of key food and beverage options. My wife and I found our "spots" and mastered the art of finding free champagne, various raffles etc. Weather was cloudy and cool, but "we didn't book the Caribbean, dear." The ship activities on the last day at sea before returning to Vancouver were a little thin. Overall, a great vacation.

The cruise was great!! by Mal

Sail date: /
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The ease in taking care of our needs was clearly evident by all on board with one exception, the nurse on duty was not helpfull when I needed help for my husband who came down with a bad cold. He is fine but no thanks to her. Other than her, the cruise was beyond our expections. Thanks Royal Caribbean!

memories to treasure by ThelmaS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

We boarded from Vancouver to see the city, stayed at a very nice "gold suite" staff were nice too, service was excellent, very friendly staff as always. But when we boarded the ship, OMG,from now on,Whenever possible and this ship (or will consider same cruise line)is available Definitely going on a cruise than in a hotel. 2 nights hotel stay in vancouver was equivalent to 1 person fee (balcony)for a cruise. Loved it, my family including my sister's family was so sad on the last day. We are looking forward to our next cruise. Destination: eastern carribean: Ship- Serenade of the seas.

Wonderful Alaska by AymeM

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The Serenade of the Seas is a beautiful ship with so many options. The crew was very friendly. Have no complains about our 7 days there, except the prices on the ship stores were a somehow high... no duty-free whatsoever... but food was great, varied, good taste... Rooms with balcony were very comfortable and the views you get to see while there are amazing!!! I recommend booking w/balcony when planning going Alaska. It was an excellent choice of cabin for this trip. The shows were more or less entertaining... not compared with those offered at the bigger ships.. but nevertheless.. they tried their best. The check-in and check-out last day were organized and more or less quickly done. My family and I had an excellent time there and I will recommend it to anyone. Take the tour from Royal Caribbean called Whale Watching and Wildlife Quest... It was EXCELLENT!....

A real Cruise! by MaryA1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Serenade of the Seas / Destination: Panama Canal, Central America

Ship was well maintained(except for an odd smell around the Atrium Bar) The food service in dining room and specialty restaurants was excellent. Music and entertainment also very good...we especially like the group "Mirage". Our biggest complaint was the disoganization of the safety drill and getting off and on the ship..took way tooooo long!
