Review summary

The captain was very skilled. He maneuvered the ship into amzing spaces for amazing views of Sawyer Glacier. The ship itself was nice but needed better maintenance. Several of the elevator call buttons did not work. There was only one hot small tub in the adults swim area and it was lukewarm, not hot.

Food and Dining

Food and service were excellent in the specialty dining rooms. Food and service were acceptable in the "my time" main dining room. Food and service were mediocre in the on-your-own buffet dining room.

Service and Staff

Stateroom and dining room staff were great; there was one outstanding person in the photo store. Most of the rest of the staff were lethargic and seemed to need a vacation themselves, or maybe just a swift kick.

Ship Quality

Accessibility was designed into the ship and then they put carpet everywhere. It is very tiring to use a manual wheelchair on carpeted surfaces for a week. Again, maintenance. There were very nice accessible restrooms all over the ship but the "in use / door locked" light did not work on several of those accessible restrooms.

We paid for a wheelchair accessible balcony room. The room was great. (But there was an extra easy chair in the room that they refused to take out which meant that I had to spend the week moving the dang chair out of the way of my wheelchair; unnecessary inconvenience.
