This was our first cruise away from our home ports of Miami/Port Everglades. Very easy check in and ship departure. I dropped my wife and cousin off at the pier with the luggage. I went back downtown to drop off the rental car. I was back at the dock in a little over half an hour. Use Uber or Lyft.
Embarkation

Very quick.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
4 out of 5
We had anytime dinning. Never a wait for a table.
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Standard cruise ship games and activities.
Lotus Spa
5 out of 5
My wife thoroughly enjoyed her 75 minute embarkation special. For me, the complementary steam room/ sauna was appreciated since it was an added cost on my previous cruise
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Really enjoyed the show with the impressionist. The others not so much.
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Most of the staff were helpful and courteous. A few were having an off night.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Good size vessel. Easy to navigate. Usual crowds embarkation/debarkation day and at destination gangways. I like the piazza decor - Alaska 50 banners.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Good size room. My wife didn't like that her side of the bed didn't have an outlet to charge her phone
Ship tip
Balcony if you can afford it. Ask your waiter for a preview of the next night's dinner menu.
5th star because I got to visit the Capitol (10 to go!). Skip the tram. If you visit, the best view is right when you get on/off the gondola. All other views are obscured by trees or the tram platform.
We did the Skagway streetcar city tour, the Day's of 98 show and the Red Onion quickie tour. Our train excursion was cancelled at the last moment due to a mechanical problem on an earlier departure.
Better than I thought it would be. I wish that we arrived earlier. It is a long walk to downtown. If you go, get the Chocolate Maple Cream cookies. They're about $7.
Warning!! Princess charged us $90 for the valet program. The guest relations rep said it was a fee for checking us onto the flight and for obtaining our airline boarding passes. I sent an e-mail to Princess to see if it was an actual charge or a mistake (our bags were free since we flew on Alaska Air and paid the fare with the Alaska air credit card).
