Cruise was great. This was our 3rd time on this ship. Loud music under our rooms that lasted into the night. by rebstid

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

I can only reiterate the disappointment due to lack of sleep caused by the entertainment in the Schooner Bar. We called in every night and received very courteous receptionists but that could not get us our rest. One of our group even spoke with the pianist and he apologized and stopped playing a little before midnight that night. But the next night things continued. He was just doing his job. Should we return to the Radiance careful consideration will be made in room selection...or on any other ship for that matter. We love Alaska. All of our friends know that we go and look forward to sharing our stories upon return. Some of them have even been upon our recommendation.

Our adventure was truly an incredible experience! It was awesome seeing God's beautiful majesty with the mountains, the glaciers, and the ocean, and marine life! The employees were all so polite, friendly, helpful, and made us feel so welcome. by cbass74429

Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Our first cruise was an incredible adventure! We deeply enjoyed the rest and relaxation. We are very grateful to have seen the beautiful mountains, gorgeous water, glaciers, marine life, animals, and eagles. It was all so absolutely beautiful! The time went by so very swiftly. We will deeply cherish the memory for a long time to come. It was perfect from beginning to end! We are thankful to have met Thomas, Ida, and Aman who assisted us. All three men made each day very special on our cruise. God bless each and everyone involved in making our trip so enjoyable!

Alaska was great--cruise okay by Baileyfamily

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)

Royal Caribbean is about the money, but if you do your homework and research the ports & excursions, you'll have a good time.

Alaska Bliss! by cptjbj

Fantastic itinerary. This Cruise was amazing. The ship is somewhat dated but I believe she is scheduled for a renovation next year.

Good ship - Bad land tour by pearsonb2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

The cruise part was fine. The land tour part of the cruise package was a disaster. Whoever was involved in booking the hotel rooms hasn't been to an Alaskan "resort" or doesn't care about comfort. Three people CANNOT sleep comfortably in two double beds. No AC, inadequate ventilation, lack of blackout curtains exacerbated the situation. Do not book an RC land tour if more than two people - even then verify the bed configuration.

Amazing Cruise by caribarra09

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

We had a bit of a hiccup. I booked the cruise and didn’t realize in Seward we would disembark. Fredy Rivero was awesome and calmed me down throughout the process of finding airline tickets to get back home. He was extremely helpful and courteous explaining the procedures. Great customer service.

Alaska is everything everyone says it is. by mcg80

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

This may have been the hardest trip to plan and the hardest way to travel to get to from Florida but it was most definitely worth it. Would do it again. Royal Caribbean is the only way to cruise. They really care about giving great customer service.

Overall Very Good Experience by genez

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Overall a very good experience. Alaska is a beautiful state. The 2 negatives were (1) the mediocre food quality in both the dining room and Chops Restaurant and (2) a terrible disembarkment and airport transfer experience.

My room was nice but stunk line sewer. We were a group of 12 and all the rooms smelled the same. The Ports of call we nice. This ship is old and needs to be retired. by gemaalvare

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Many of the employees were either trainees or it was their cruise. This was almost like a staff training cruise. The food was mediocre at best. Our staterooms smelled like sewer, otherwise the ship was clean. The staff was very accommodating. It rained in my daughter's head in her cabin. That was gross.

Pleasant surprises by Rpmx3YahR2ALNvJWS5L9Vh6CO

Cruising seems to be the only way to see Alaska. We had many happy circumstances where a modestly priced excursion gave us a thrilling adventure.

Tired and poorly maintained by luludv

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

It was pleasant because of the destination but this ship would have been brutal in any other situation. It is very poorly maintained and tired looking. The staff of course is amazing, it is not their fault. But maintenance on this ship is very disruptive. They came a few times to paint while we were in there, really? Isn't this more of an off season project or a port day project?

Alaska in Small Bites by JMBurnham

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

Great experience. Understand you will be "smoking" if you go to the casino, there is really no way to separate smoking and non-smoking in one large area! Caution for those eating dinner at 8 PM - sun is setting and will be shining in someone's eyes! Know that on Royal Caribbean there are formal dining nights, but if you do not want to dress up you can always go to the Windjammer Cafe.

AWESOME ALASKA CRUISE!!! by mperiandri

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Gulf of Alaska

We had a really great time! Still had sea legs when we got home and still missing the rocking of the ship at night to lull us to sleep! I would do this again. Thank you.

It was okay overall by guapa194478100

The weather was excellent except in the Hubbard Glacier it was raining and cold. We are disappointed with the Theater entertainment at night. The food and staff were excellent.

Cruise was underwhelming by KLB23

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: Hawaii

We were constantly being sold something. It wasn’t very annoying and uncomfortable. The Key program was a complete rip off and joke. They did not give half of what it advertised and none of the staff knew what it was either which shows it was just another avenue to take your money.

Great Experience by ezstreet655

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Radiance of the Seas / Destination: South Pacific

Expertations were met. Not even getting an explanation (although false) about why our window was blocked with a rusty window cleaning platform, ladder, etc., for the entire cruise was totally unacceptable.
