My room was nice but stunk line sewer. We were a group of 12 and all the rooms smelled the same. The Ports of call we nice. This ship is old and needs to be retired.

Radiance of the Seas

7 Night Alaska Hubbard Glacier Southbound (Seward To Vancouver)

Sail date: June 07, 2019

Ship: Radiance of the Seas

Cabin number: 9078

Traveled as: Large Group

Review summary

Many of the employees were either trainees or it was their cruise. This was almost like a staff training cruise. The food was mediocre at best. Our staterooms smelled like sewer, otherwise the ship was clean. The staff was very accommodating. It rained in my daughter's head in her cabin. That was gross.

Embarkation

I am a Gold card member so it was fast.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

3 out of 5
THe food was the worst of any Royal Caribbean ship. Potatoes weren't cooked on two nights, etc.

Onboard Activities

2 out of 5
Normally there are fun activities around the pool but nothing was done. There wasn't even music playing for those who wished to be there.

Entertainment

1 out of 5
There wasn't even music playing for those who wished to be in the pool area. I hate the new inverted Bingo the person who did it was horrible.

Service and Staff

Ship Quality

2 out of 5
It looked old and tired.

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
It was a good size and the cabin was clean except for the bathroom sewer smell.

I've found that when the ships are in cooler areas, Alaska and new England there aren't many poolside activities. Normally the pools are pretty empty.
