Our First Cruise by breerob

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Quantum of the Seas

Overall we had a great time. The ship rocked quite a bit on sea days. Food was nothing to write home about, but the shows and activities were great!

Overall a Good Trip by cdavis5144

Overall it was a great cruise. The weather was great except for the one rainy day in Juneau. The ship did seem crowded.

Just eh. by babynursern

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Quantum of the Seas

I have only been on royal carribean once before in 1993 and it was first class and unreal. What happened? This was so disappointing. Very little appearances of the cruise director, shows were ok, dancing was amazing. Only two comedy shows that weren't even advertised as such and one that was at 1130pm. Food was a huge disappointment. Its like they lowered the quality in Mdr and buffet so you are forced to pay for specialty dining. Ship is pretty. Very low personal interaction from staff. It was a strange cruise without many stand out memorable moments

Royal Caribbean did not deliver on expectations! by sshubinski

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I have sailed 6 times previously on Holland America and had wonderful experiences every time. I was notified by RC that the itinerary for this cruise was going to have to change due to one engine not working and another needing maintenance. As a result, the ship could not travel as fast or as far and complete the itinerary. RC chose to remove what would have been the most interesting stops including Icy Point Strait and Dawes Glacier and offered us a meager $100 shipboard credit for the inconvenience. This was an insult to me and I attempted to contact RC numerous times prior to the cruise, once on their website, 3 times by phone and 2 more times by email. There was no response at any time. Once onboard the ship, I found out the cruise on the same ship that went out the week before us received a full day's sailing credit. At this point, I spoke to guest services on the ship and every one I spoke with said it was a corporate decision and there was nothing they could do. They did provide a number I could call onboard but I was on hold once for 2 hours and another time for 45 minutes and still never spoke to anyone. Finally, when I returned, I contacted the guest services department by email. They did respond the next day but basically said there was nothing else they could do for me. For a cruise line that likes to bill itself as "The Best Cruise Line Overall", The fell very short. I will NEVER cruise with Royal Caribbean again!

Beautiful Weather and Ship + COVID Protocols by mjbwr7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Quantum of the Seas

It would have been great if Skagway was not canceled and 2 glacier ports were scheduled. The late schedule adjustment really detracted from the port/excursion experience. The experience on the ship was great - always something to do whether it was laser tag, bumper cars, trivia, sport competitions, shows, or just drinking. Be careful of Covid protocols - we were deemed close contacts and needed to test every day (mandatory, no way around it) - they also tell you to stay in your room to eat/drink and wear a mask at all times - they do not enforce/check this.

Nice Alaska cruise by niecey20001

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The only problem my wife and I encountered were due to not being poorly prepared for the climate change from where we came from. It was not a great hinderance, but it limited some activities that were planned as we were not able to compensate for this by getting what we needed at any port or onboard.

Great Cruise, GIANT SHIP by AinoSam

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Quantum of the Seas

Wonderful experience for the most part. The staff were great, the sights were awe inspiring, and the excursion were great for us. The only downsides were the ramps to the ports, the size of the ship with respect to elevators, and the room service.

Spectacular! ALASKA! by gigi504

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Quantum of the Seas

Would highly recommend cruise to Alaska. The views are spectacular and larger than life. The solarium was a wonderful spot to hang out in, imagine sitting. I the hot tub and watching an eagle soar over the glass ceiling. We missed icy straits due to a medical emergency and having to turn back to get closer to land. Emergency helicopter landing for patient was not expected but as far as we knew, worked out ok for passenger.

Amazing Alaska, Great Ship, OK entertainment & Service by bbarrick

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Quantum of the Seas / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Family of 5 with younger teenagers. We've loved Royal Caribbean for years, and the scenery, ship, and activities did not disappoint. Alaska is an amazing place, and we'll definitely be back. The benefit of being on a large ship like Quantum was that they constantly had activities for all of us to enjoy. From trivia to rock climbing to bumper cars to laser tag to pickle ball, there was always something to do. While the ship was full, it rarely seemed overly crowded, and we were able to avoid the lines for the most part. Beautiful, sunny weather almost every day, with gorgeous, snow-capped mountains everywhere. We would definitely take this cruise again.

Great cruise just a little disappointed by ran27

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Quantum of the Seas

This was a cruise with extended family. We had a good time on the ship and enjoyed the ports. My time dining was new for us and even though we made reservation in advance we had to wait with our party being big. But still it’s a vacation we had a good time from young to old. We always had something to do and sometimes double booked ours selves for an event. We did not get to ride the North Star. Our reservation where for the day of Skagway because we went to the glaciers at this time ours was canceled and rescheduled. It was rescheduled when we where going whale watching and by then all the slots were taken. Family was a little disappointed in that. Overall a great time.

Had a blast! by Kell1105

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: Quantum of the Seas

This was my first cruise since June of 2018 and it was so good to be back! I wondered how things would be since the pandemic but not much had changed. Other than all the staff wearing masks, everything was relatively the same. Royal Caribbean did it again and I'm so glad I'm Loyal to Royal. They have never let me down!
