Review summary

This was my 7th rccl cruise and the worst. Food was poor, the service slow. I know we were sailing out of China but the ship seamed to be geared up to accommodate the Chinese at the expense of the other nationalities.

We are taking 12 day cruise on Quantum in 2020 from Singapore to Tianjin/Beijing. We are looking forward to the Far East cultural experience. We are planning to stay 4 days after the cruise in Beijing and explore many tourist spots while we there. We think that it is very proper for the ship to focus its service toward the Asian guests since it sails from and to their ports.

I was on the same ship. On reading some reviews I was expecting the majority of the crowd to be Chinese. I never took offence to their ‘ways’ and had a great trip. I can understand some of Neddy’s complaints in that there wasn’t the usual entertainment that I have experienced on other cruises. Enjoyed (not super rapped) with the MDR meals and loved Jamie Olivers restaurant. We did not do a tour at any of the ports, knowing that there would be a mad rush. We just sat back and watched it all and then headed off on our own. Great trip.

So, you want them to accommodate you at the expense of the Chinese? I am not understanding. I imagine a cruise leaving out of China would be majority Asian passengers. I think it makes more sense to accommodate the majority as well as you can since that’s where the majority of your money is coming from. Not to mention cruises tend to assimilate the culture of the ports they visit through food offerings and activities. Seems pretty normal to me.
