Plan what you want to experience on each island based upon that certain island's own offerings. Plan downtime, too, to enjoy the local flavors!

The Italian Specialty dining room was a big disappointment. Cold and dried out both times we sent it back. They did end up not charging us, but we were celebrating our 45th Wedding Anniversary and we were looking forward to a great meal. Never happened.

Most cruise lines allow 1bottle of wine/person that can be consumed in cabin without corkage fee. If brought to the dining room, a fee is charged. NCL's policy says one may or may not be charged a corkage fee, which is unclear. I was given a choice to pay the fee, or have wine stored until trip end.

For breakfast walk through the main dining room on deck 11 to a really nice fruit buffet, food station aft and eat outside under the canopy.

We never made a reservation for lunch or dinner - we just went when we wanted, and were always seated quickly. The food is excellent!

Each and every bar on the Pride of America had the nicest bartenders, especially Kevin. A server named Randy was also very helpful and pleasant. The best food offered was in the Skylight and Liberty dining rooms. For breakfast--go to the Skylight dining room. Aloha has the best desserts.

Due to the shore excursion schedule eating at the buffet was a better fit for us. I also like to see the mainstage shows, so being able to have a faster dinner than in a formal dining situation, helped, as that first show is at 7 PM. I like mid-ship cabins, as they are closer to main elevators.

The restaurant serves the exact same breakfast menu as the buffet so you might as well go there. Also, the soda package: no bottled water AND you'll going to have to fight to get your money's worth. I had to go to bars myself to get soda for meals.

Change up the menu and make sure you add flavor. A little salt and pepper on the steaks would go a long way. Very disappointed in the taste of the food.

Do not book CABIN 10568 - when it docks in Maui for 2 days, there are 2 big crane line inches from the balcony. This is the same view and smell for all other cabins mid ship, You will not have access to your balcony.

We had been eating one meal a day with a smoothie at night so were not ready for the three meals a day. Eat in the dining room for portion control. Plenty of people were on a see food diet. They saw it and ate it. We ended up skipping lots of meals due to being too full. Entertainment was great.

There ought to be two buffets - the one up on 11 was too much of a circus when it got busy......we opted for other locations once we saw how crowded it was.

The crew on board was great. The people in guest services were very helpful. We loved the Freestyle Dining, since we didn't need to take an extra suitcase with formal clothing, shoes, jewelry, etc. The entertainment staff was very talented and friendly.
