Oasis of the Seas overview

By Cruiseline.com - Updated Sep. 17, 2019

Aimed at active couples, families, and solo travelers, Oasis of the Seas offers a true mega-ship cruise adventure with more action-packed activities than you can experience in a single week at sea. On one of the world's largest cruise ships, travelers can enjoy endless fun in the pool and sports zone, which has a zip line, two climbing walls, and dual surf simulators. While adults spend a quiet moment in the Vitality spa or Solarium, younger travelers can stay busy in the Royal Babies & Tots Nursery and Ocean Adventure club on Kids' Avenue. And from beloved Broadway musicals to themed party nights, there's always something happening in the theater and along the Boardwalk or Royal Promenade.

Even though Oasis launched back in 2009, passengers can still expect the cutting-edge technology and amenities Royal Caribbean is known for. Royal completely overhauled the dining options and amenities on Oasis during a 2014 dry-dock makeover, and additional improvements are scheduled for the end of 2019. The Royal Amplified updates will expand the water sports and games areas and add new dining venues, such as El Loco Fresh and Jamie's Italian by Jamie Oliver. Royal Caribbean will also be introducing updated lounges and clubs, including adult arcades and karaoke bars for Instagram-worthy nights.

Oasis of the Seas is perfect for active travelers of all types: thrill-seekers, teens, solo travelers, millennials, and couples, along with multigenerational families with varied interests.

Oasis of the Seas itineraries includes sailings from Miami and Fort Lauderdale to destinations in the Eastern and Western Caribbean including Mexico, Haiti, Jamaica, and the U.S. Virgin Islands. A few select itineraries in 2019 will include stops in Spain, Italy, and the Western Mediterranean prior to the upcoming refurbishment. After May 2020, the updated ship will depart from the New York City area at the Cape Liberty Cruise Port in Bayonne, New Jersey. Itineraries will take travelers to The Bahamas and Royal Caribbean's exclusive Perfect Day at CocoCay theme park.

This was my first RC cruise and I chose the Oasis due to size and it being a 3 day cruise. The ship was beautiful and well maintained. The staff was great. The balcony room was perfect!

The BEST place to relax on this ship is the Solarium! Adults only, so NO kids..A GREAT way to spend a port day when most are off the ship!

Eat at Solarium Bistro to avoid crowds in Windjammer. Look at other tour providers (other than ship excursions) online before your trip to save big $ on tours. For example, ship booked tour for one island was $129 and purchased before trip through another provider was only $20. Same tour.
