I was fortunate to have 3 different cruise lines available to me in the time frame I was looking to travel to Florida. All 3 were very close in price, but this website showed a significant onboard credit for the Norwegian cruise, ($75 I think) that made the deal much sweeter.   I was disappointed to discover when I got on board that the none of the promised rewards were applied to my account and Norwegian had no record of Cruise.com's promised perks.  With no cell phone reception once we left the port and with the cost to go online from the ship to email the site  so high, I couldn't justify dealing with it while on board and just decided to just relax and enjoy the trip and send a disgruntled email when I got back. 

But there was a little more salt added to the wound at the end of the trip when NCL also charged an extra $12 per day for gratuities, above and beyond the fees charged in the beginning, (something that I think had been all inclusive with the Carnival cruise I took last time I traveled but its been several years so I might be wrong).   It's not much, but if you already tipped in your room and then you'd been expecting the ship board credit, it's a little frustrating reminder as you're leaving the ship. 

But the ship was very well maintained, the crew super nice, and the overall experience very good.  I do think I would avoid pre-buying too many shore excursions in the future though, as many are available at a reduced rate when you arrive and you might find like I did too much of your day was  pre-planned so there is no time to be spontaneous.    Oh, and one more little gripe. I think it's a bit disingenuous of the ship to offer free ice tea and juices in the buffet area, but only provide the tiniest little juice glasses to drink from.   If you buy a coke or something, they come in large cups, but the complimentary ones are very tiny.

I had not been on the Norwegian Sky in several years and was happy to see that the boat is aging well.   Norwegian's private island makes this trip worth it in itself as they have added more areas to the island and offer a lot to do.  Take the waverunner excursion - the local guides show you a lot of the surrounding area and even allowed a small time to get into the water and dive for starfish.   Nassau, having been there many times, is not my favorite port of call, but there is always something you can do there.  We spent the morning shopping and then went back and had the boat to ourselves seemingly until about 3 p.m.   The entertainment band, Hotwire, was a great respite and provided hours each day of good entertainment.  They can cover a lot of music genres.  The evening shows were very good considering it's a short hop cruise.  The only thing that keeps this cruise from getting 5 stars for me was that the food in the main dining room and the buffets earned a big YUCK from us.  We ate at Cagney's on the first night and were very happy with our choices there.  The second night we ate in the main dining room and got up and left because service and the food was awful.  We spoke to the maitre' d about it as we were leaving and they actually offered us a night at Le Bistro.  Room service had a great BLT, although it took over an hour mid-day to receive our order.  Embarkation and debarkation were a breeze - I like that NCL let's you pick the time you wish to debark with appropriate tag colors.  For the money, this was a great little weekend getaway.

my wife and I were so happy when we got a good promotión and a discounts for next vacations in norwegian sky because it was our second time on the ship, the first experience was good, this one was  better. activities were great, crew were kind all the time, food excelent, shows wonderful and the excursión  especially pretty.,we knew the deep of the ocean and reef.

This was our 15th anniversary and first cruise.  It was a great experience.  The crew was very friendly and the ship was beautiful.  We were well informed with the details we needed to know about entertainment, dining, various charges/fees, excursions, etc.  Everything was very clean.  Only negative thing I could say is, I was not impressed with the food.  Quality was not exceptional as I heard it could be.  It was good, fresh and a good variety. I thought it was a great benefit for the last stop to be at Great Stirrup Cay (Norwegian's Island).  It's a good opportunity to socialize more with fellow travelers.  Beach chairs are provided and a good bbq buffet. 

1st cruise. enjoyed every minute. complete onboard staff was very friendly and helpful. I will do this again. Norwegian private island in the Bahamas is beautiful. would have enjoyed a longer stay there.

This ship Norwegian Sky was awesome. The layout much better than some larger ships I have been on. Has more pools. And freestyle dining is awesome. You can eat whenever you want rather than at an assigned dining time. The Captain and crew were awesome. They make you feel like family so when you leave they make you feel like you want to come and see them(cruise with them) again.  I would definitely go on this same cruise again. I really can not say anything negative. The food was good. I admit not as good as Royal Carribean who are known for their food. But I had plenty of delicious food on this cruise and was very pleased no complaints.  And the entertainment/shows were very good too. I hightly recommend this cruise ship. You won't be disappointed.

I was a first time cruiser with my boyfriend and we loved every second of it. We loved the entertainment and other activities on board. We enjoyed it and will definitely plan another cruise after this one.

I gave it a four stars as I firmly believe that all charges should be upfront with all customers and not just telling them that there will be a charge at the end. It can be deceiving and I personally hate sticker shock. Budget at least $100 per person as a service charge at the end. 

Overall the cruise was great. There were a few unexpected charges and some unclear directions all some of the excursions. The staff was very nice and always helpful.

We just booked a general inside room where the cruise ship assigns rooms.  This was our second cruise with NCL and anticipated a nice inside cabin.  The one we got was on the 9th level which is good; however, it was the smallest room we have ever had on a cruise ship.  When I looked at the picture of the surrounding rooms, I could see our room had a section which was blocked off.  Not sure if it was for storage or the stairs, which were right by our room.  People running in the hallway and up/down stairs all evening.  In addition, the bed was "hard as a rock".  The food was very good and the ship was clean.  Boarding was relatively quick, around 45 minutes.  Did not have to wait to be seated in the dining room anytime.  I felt the time between courses was a bit too long.  I will continue to consider NCL for future cruises, but I will book my own cabin.

This was the first cruise that my husband and I have been on .We had a very nice time, it was very relaxing, the food and service was great but a few down sides were the ship was freezing....It was so cold everywhere you went I had to carry a jacket with me at all times. I was a bit disappointed that the only shows were lame game shows. I was looking forward to a good comedian. All in all, the cruise was nice and someday I would like to do it again.

I had a great time for my mother's 62 birthday. Must do again real soon. The food was great and do read the entertainment. The staff was amazing everyone made us feel like family. The showers in the cabins could be bigger and so could the beds. My electricity stopped working in my cabin for a couple of hours but was resolved the next day.

I was on this ship 7 yrs ago and thought it was the least of all the cruises we had been on. Service was ok, food was less than good, and the shows were boring. Then we booked it again 3 years ago and did not realize it was the same ship-not very good experience again. We just went on the same ship taking one last chance-BINGO-much better! The entire menu had just changed the week prior our trip. I need to say it was probably the BEST meals we have ever had on any ship. OUTSTANDING job on all the sit down meals. 5 star!!! I ate at the buffet a few time (I have just broken my ankle so getting around the buffet was difficult) and the food was very good. Presentation, great selection and flavor was all very good. The stage for the show is small so there was mostly singing and dancing every night. Staff was very nice. On the down side--The ship needs new carpet and some other remodeling. The pool area needs more help picking up plates, glasses, etc. I got no extra privileges as far as my broken ankle. Although I did get a shower chair. The communication for me to get on and off the ship was bad. We asked the front desk about the easiest way to disembark the ship our last day and there was nothing in place. I had to stand in long lines getting off the ship and going through the port. At one point, going through customs a port  employee asked why the ship did not give me special instructions for SPECIAL NEEDS. He moved me through the last few minutes but by that time I was out of energy and almost out to the car.

The ship is very nice, the customer service is out standing!! The food could use some work perhaps an array of options as to what they will serve in different dinning rooms.

The food was horrible, no verity, the same thing over and over and it was all poorly cooked. The only way to get a good meal was to pay a large amount extra. I ended up trashing more drinks then I drank because only 2 bartenders knew how to make a drink. Our first day on the cruise we went to the spa. My daughter was forgotten for almost an hour and once they realized they forgot her they shortened her services, but not the price. My manicure polish started coming off in less the 24 hours. We left the spa about 9:30pm and the only restaurant opened was on deck 11, the buffet and all they had was old chicken wings and cold pizza. We ended up ordering room service and the salad came with no lettuce.

The refrigerator in our room was not cold, I called and requested it be fixed but no one ever fixed it. The hair drier only worked on low, we requested another and it never came. The cleaning person walked in on us twice when we were changing. When he knocked on the door we yelled wait, but he started to open the door anyway.

The cruise staff was either really nice or really rude, no in between.

This was my first cruise and I do not know if I will ever cruise again, maybe on a different cruise line.

Great cruise for a short weekend getaway. The reason for the three stars was the food was not great and the boat itself is just a little rundown in comparison to other cruises I've been on (which were longer and further away). Otherwise great deal for the money!

This cruise had night life with the good music and all white party. I love how they have free style dining unlike carnival who has you sit with strangers. The staff was beyond nice and anything you wanted they got no extra cost. From the moment I arrived I felt at home.

The staff on the ship were very helpful and friendly. The rooms were clean and the ship was in good condition. There were many onboard activities to keep people interested. I do not recommend playing the Bingo games, they were misleading in how they were going to be played and the winnings were not worth the buy-in. The ship is not a "party" ship, but if you are in need of relaxation with some fun thrown in, this is the ship for you.  We only ate in the included dining rooms, so my take on the food may be narrow.  The food is passable. There are a couple of dishes that were delicious, but as a whole, the chefs fail to deliver culinary greatness. Stick to steak or pasta and you are ok. I tried the lamb and it was so bad I had to leave it uneaten. Sadly, my server failed to get back to us in a timely manner, so my husband finished his dinner and I had nothing to eat. We ended up going to the buffet so I could grab a bite. I will say that the mushroom Ravioli was quite tasty. The gnocchi with squash sauce could have been perfection, but the heavy oil that it was cooked with on the flat top left a burnt-oil flavor to the gnocchi. It overwhelmed the flavor of the sauce which actually was pure culinary genius in execution.  It was a constant disappointment every evening. I will say that the buffet does have some good offerings and a fresh omelet outside on the back of the boat watching the sunrise is always enjoyable. I did order room service one night, while the menu is very limited, the food was delicious.  All in all, I would like to try one of their larger ships to compare this cruise to. The freestyle cruise aspect was very enjoyable.

Always enjoy the ambiance , staff and entertainment on Norwegian. However the food is so awful  that many times I could not eat it.. Some of the food  at the buffet made me sick just to look at it. What a shame because I cruise every two weeks and I would be a repeat customer except for the food.

Carnival is a much better bang for the buck.

Regarding customer service, I thought your entire staff (with one exception) was extremely attentive, helpful and exceedingly pleasant.  We celebrated 2 birthdays and 1 wedding anniversary and we were all acknowledged nicely.  

The food options were just alright.  The best event was on the private island which I could have stayed at longer.

All in all, we had a nice time but the ship is very old, the tv and staterooms were very worn. 

Also, late night options and room service were very limited.
