This was my first time with Norwegian cruise line and I must say I was truly impressed.  I booked this cruise as a surprise birthday gift for my boyfriend and he loved it. The staff, food, entertainment and customer service was truly amazing and unforgettable!  I would recommend this cruise to anyone looking for a stress free good time. 

As a first time cruiser, this experience definitely has me wanting more! The crew, the ship, the food,the private Island, the excursions, the fun....... I cant say enough!

we had 5 families on this cruise. We chose this one because it seemed like the best deal. The staff was fantastic. The ship was nice for what we wanted. I would choose different ports since I do not like Nassau and Freeport. But we could stay on the ship for that time. The private Isl. was fantastic. We really could not have asked for a lot more. Everyone from the minute we arrived were there to help us in any way they could. I just wish it was longer. 

Over all I was not pleased. I have cruised on many cruise lines. I have to say the food was very poor. The service was ok. The cabin Stewart came putting dirty towels and wet towels back on our racks in the bathroom. No free coffee bars. Which coffee is a big deal with most people. I don't think I will cruise again on Norwegian....... But luke everything else you have to try something to see if you like it. Thank you for letting me express my opinion. JoAnn McKruit.

This is my second Norwegian cruise but will probably be my last. 

Overall good value, food was great

The Good: - Jimmy our stateroom steward was very nice and did his work great. - Mary capistrano at the sushi restaurant gave us exceptional service.

The bad: - Poolside bartenders were never smiling. They kind of made us feel they were doing us a favor. No human interaction what so ever.  - Great Stirrup Cay bartender Jude de jesus was rude and made me feel very uncomfortable. I asked if he was ok and he didn't even respond. Again making me feel as if I owed him or had done something. This sadly because my memory of the beautiful island. - Other than the tropical band, the music poolside was too loud. I could even have a conversation with my wife and we were sitting very far from the stage. - The activities poolside lacked taste. In my previous cruise in Hawaii it was very nice. Not this time. It felt like a cheap springbreak.  - Buffet layout is very bad. Lots of traffic in tight spaces made every breakfast a frustrating experience. we decided to have breakfast at the dinning room because it was so bad.

We had 2 days with no phones!  Our first port was Nassau and when we got back on the boat, the crew was there to greet us and music was playing and they offered us cold towels and a cool drink.  Royal was docked next to us and they got nothing.  The cruise was a perfect couple of days for a get-away! 

This is the first time that I have done the 4 day cruise to the Bahamas. I have taken the 3 day cruise several times in the past. I have taken the 7 day cruise out of NYC to Bermuda as well. NCL is always very accommodating. The staff is always extremely pleasant. The food is delicious, though there were some htis and misses on new cuisine that I tried. Some days I just relaxed and some days I actually left the ship. Some points that might help:

One: Freeport has very little at the "Straw market port". There are cabs which are really just old un air-conditioned vans that locals contractor with a company to use. They wait until the van is full to leave the pier and the ride from the pier to the "straw market" is approximately 30 minutes. There is not much else there although you can walk to where the boats are or down to a very pretty beach approximately 1/2 mile from the market. The beach was the best part and has a bar right on the sand. However it is important to note that when I went there was only one way to get back and forth from the pier and the rides were backed up. So, don't wait until the last minute to head back or you will miss your boat. For $5 each way it's not bad because a regular cab was $20 one way.

2: Stayed up for the white hot party. The DJ was hit and miss. Sometimes he had a great song going but he would interrupt them constantly. The teenagers loved the constant switching but not too many adults were on the floor. It wasn't bad but a better mix would have been nice.

3. The best part is day 3, the private island.  They have really built it up and continue to do so.  Unfortunately the Hippo slide was down but that was okay.  They built a private lagoon which is AWESOME, especially if you want to be away from the noise.  Food is awesome too.  Trams run pretty consistently and the lifeguards let you know when it's time to leave.

I will definitely do this trip again. Arranging it through BJ's was seamless and easy. My room was super tiny and I will be more careful next time to make sure that I don't get one as small.

If you have other choices, take them.  I talked to numerous passengers who had cruised with NCL before and they were not happy with this ship. The ship is the oldest in the fleet and in dire need of repair. The cruise director was terrible.  He put on a "show" after the comedy act that consisted of him and a few crew members dressed in white tablecloths, drinking water and spitting on each other. It was something I would not expect to see in a high school talent show, much less on what I considered an "upscale" cruise line experience. We just finished taking a Disney cruise, which was only $200 more than this cruise, and I think the value with Disney cruises is 10 fold.  SAVE YOUR MONEY and Frustration and STAY AWAY!  The entire dining staff was rude..there were NO tables for breakfast inside or outside and I asked a waiter for salt and he told me it's at the table, I said there are not any tables, he said try outside.  So, I looked to the passenger sitting closest and asked to use his salt.  On Disney, the crew member would have taken the tray and helped to escort me to find a table and/or given me salt immediately.  Small differences like this make a huge impact on a cruise experience.  The tables were constantly dirty on the pool deck.  My backyard pool is bigger than the pool on the ship.  There are not water slides or activities that you would expect on the ship deck.  This was just a VERY poor experience.  I plan on cruising a few more times this year and can guarantee you that NCL will not be getting ANY portion of my travel dollars in the future! 

Our your experiences with Norwegian Cruise Line's service, dining, staterooms, onboard activities, and shore excursions could not have been any better. We had the time of our lives.

Our first  cruise with NCL. Loved this concept of free-style cruising. The ship had a relaxed, laid back vibe including the senior officers as evidenced at the Welcome Aboard Show! Everyone seems to be happy and enjoying themselves. The entertainment was good especially the comedian, Alvin Williams. Dining rooms were quiet with excellent service and the food was very good! We cruise a lot and really enjoyed our experience on the Sky!

This was my 8th cruise but the first with Norwegian. For the price and length of the cruise we had a nice time. We got the drink package which was nice to not have to worry about keeping track of slips. The food was good but the menu choices were very limited in comparison to other cruises I have taken and they were less flexible deviate from the menu. I had coconut shrimp on Wed evening and loved it. Thurs they offered garlic shrimp, I had asked if I could have the coconut shrimp instead and was told unfortunately not. It takes two seconds to bread the shrimp they had in coconut. Carnival was always very flexible with requests in the dining room. The appearance and cleanliness of the ship was excellent, especially for an older ship. The staff overall did their jobs but never once did I experience anyone going above and beyond. The bar staff was very very very slow. The islands we visited were a great time! We only had booked the Atlantis excursion which was fun. I definitely think the embarkation and debarkation went much smoother than other cruises I have been on. It was much more relaxed and they fed you before you left. The entertainment was awesome, kudos in that dept. The piano bar definitely needs much improvement as it was more like a comedy skit instead of sing alongs. Carnival has the best piano bar at sea!

We had to leave the cruise within the first 14 hours and fly back home due a a death in the immediate family and they did not take in consideration the situation and charged us for everything, including the future shore excursions we did not take. Very disappointing!

What a great weekend!  It was just the four of us, celebrating the couple who traveled us, their 1st year wedding anniversary.  Great weather, great entertainment, and plenty to do for all.

The food way okay but does not compare to other cruise lines. The cabin was not very clean and the toilet smelled from day one where the sewage lines seems to be blocked. 

  The staff refuse to explain things in a clear fashion and seem do be experts in bait and switch. I spoke to a so called accounts rep on the ship and he was dismissive of my concerns and would not explain where my credits or my account fully.    Everyone is friendly until it comes to the last night and the morning of departure, where we were treated like cattle having to move from our cabins.  The staff refuse to explain things in a clear fashion and seem do be experts in bait and switch. These misrepresents are not proper.    Would not recommend until the rectify the above. 

 

 

 

 

 

Smooth sailing, great staff. Our room Stewart was awesome. I had a medical emergency while onboard. The medical staff was very supportive and knowledgeable. I felt like I was in good hands. The food was a disappointment. We have traveled many times on Carnival and Norwegian is lagging behind on food choices and quality in our opinion.

The over all cruise was good considering I spent the first 36 hours in my stateroom under the weather

Great Stirrup Cay is a very low key place to spend the day.

This was my first time on a cruise; it was amazing. I've already recommended it to everyone I've talked to since. The crew on the Norwegian Sky is so friendly, helpful, and fun. I want to go again already.

The food is delicious!! You certainly will not go hungry, that's for sure!  We took advantage of some of the onboard entertainment and enjoyed every bit of it! Be sure to get a daily activity sheet of the ships entertainment schedule daily.

An epic three day adventure experienced by two first time cruiser's. Surrounded by beautiful people, oceans and great weather; it was a journey I would recommend for first time travelers. It seemed as if our cruise ship was more interactive compared to other lines at the port in the Bahamas. I thoroughly enjoyed the experience I received while on my first cruise. Renting scooters in Nassau is a solid choice to get out and see the whole island while you're there. P.s. do not forget wear some sort of sunblock, I am still peeling and can still feel the heat from the sun.

I must say I have cruised before, but this cruise was a non-stop thrill ride. We were constantly engaged, and I actually regret that I missed certain things because I overslept most days. 

Nassau was fun, it was easy to get around, and we had a great time at the beach and Atlantis. 

I do regret how late we went to Great Stirrup Caye, there was so much to do on this little island, so be sure to go on land early so that you get to do everything. 

The nightly entertainment was also great, I really enjoyed Andrew Kennedy's comedic act. And the best part of this cruise was THE QUEST. Be sure to check it out whenever it happens. Our cruise director Tyler kept everyone very engaged and had the best energy. 

I love NCL and the freestyle, Also, note that there is a waffle station in the Italian restaurant at breakfast, we didn't know that so we missed out. The food was awesome every single day, wish I had more time to try out some of the other places, but I was more than impressed with the Buffet for every meal.
