Try not to take the tours offered by the ship. Plenty of tours being offered when to get off in port for 1/2 the price.

Ask first if there will be a gay/lesbian group on the ship. Many people were not happy about it, including us.

Stick with the excursions from Norweigan. Do not do your own or another company's excursions. It's too risky and nerve wracking. The ship excursions were very organized and smooth.

The cruise we took is 80% older crowd - too many walkers, scooters and wheelchairs if you're not prepared for that.

I became seriously ill with heart problems on our fifth day out. Utilized the ships medical staff and was blown away with the quality. There were two doctors and 4 nurses. Interacted with all and I cannot say enough good about the staff and their process. I always wondered about the availability of medical care and am mightily impressed. I was under treatment for 9 hours and released and had more follow up tests the next morning. The bill was $3900 which I think would be similar to emergency room treatment in USA.

Definatly pre register. But don’t use their wheelchair service. It was very inadequate. My friend thought she had reserved a wheelchair for disembarking and then had to register again the morning of.

Use the midship elevators to navigate. Deck 7 and deck 12 are the only decks that go all the way through from bow to stern.
