Ship experiences

Food and Dining

5 out of 5
The ships main dining rooms were wonderful with great food and drink. Specialty resturants were execelent with the exception of Lotus Chinese and sushi restaurant. The buffet in the garden cafe was execelent.

Onboard Activities

5 out of 5
The pools were fun and the fitness center was okay. My favorite was the thermal spa. I spent a lot of time there.

Entertainment

4 out of 5
Stage shows were okay but I seen most of them before. Musicians were very good and all over the ship.

Service and Staff

5 out of 5
Execelent service from everyone

Ship Quality

5 out of 5
Ship design and layout was very similar to the Jewel. Always clean and well maintained. . .

Cabin / Stateroom

4 out of 5
The room seamed small but always clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Ship tip

Try not to take the tours offered by the ship. Plenty of tours being offered when to get off in port for 1/2 the price.

Ports of call

San Pedro (Los Angeles), California

2 out of 5
San Pedro is not a pretty port, it is very industrial and crowded with tons of traffic

Cabo San Lucas, Mexico

To may ships in port that day made it very crowded. We were anchored out the farthest of the 3 ships. We got about 1 1/2 hrs in town. I have been there plenty of times so we just sat in senior frogs and eat lunch.

Acapulco, Mexico

5 out of 5
We took a private tour. $60 for my wife and I. We got to see the cliff divers and all the sites of Acapulco , lasted about 5 hrs

Huatulco, Mexico

3 out of 5
Not much there to see very small rural town. Be careful with the exchange rate there we were only getting 15 Paso to the dollar The going rate was about 19

Puntarenas, Costa Rica

We took a private tour here with Syltravel Day Tours. Enrique was our guide a very nice young man . We saw monkeys and crocodiles Spent about 6 Hrs on tour and were dropped off in town to eat dinner.

Panama Canal Transit

5 out of 5
No excursions here just tranisit thru the Canal. Very nicely done by NCL

Cartagena, Colombia

This port was a blast. Very busy but so much fun. Again we took a private tour and visited all the sites and had lunch in town.

New Orleans, Louisiana

We just drove to the airport no tour here.

Disembarkation

This was a nightmare. Very un organized. The $50 for a bus tranisit to the airport never happened. After waiting 2 hours Along with everyone else’s I gave up and took a $30 cab ride to the airport. We barley made our 1:40 flight. We were told it would be very hard to get a cab but there were tons of cabs. I was told on the phone NCL will likely Not reimburse us .
