I have been on 15 Norwegian Cruises - this was the worst experience. I have stayed with Norwegian because of the Latitudes Program but I sure didn't feel anything special about being Platinum (need 3 points to Plus). I may try Celebrity or Princess in the future. Still have negative feelings about the Embarkation Process and how crowded the ship was.

The overall quality was less than before, especially the variety of food. At Le Bistro one of my favorite entrees was the duck. This year they only served a duck pate. Very few vegetables in dining room menus and less variety at buffet. The staff entertainment was very good but the outside entertainment was poor. No separate Haven dining room. Unless the ship has an overhaul I would prefer the newer, larger ships with separate Haven restaurant and better entertainment.

The gem is a good starter cruise for most people — I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who has sailed NCL mega ships like breakaway or bliss or epic ... classism onboard becomes clear as NCLs all inclusive isn’t so inclusive as there are a ton of add ons and buy ins as soon as you get onboard — Yes you will get free food — the buffet food is — passable — nothing to rave about.... the main dining halls make you feel fancy while eating slightly more Passable food (mainly cause of presentation, food isn’t really higher quality).... so this leave you with having to buy into their specialty dinning packages if you want quality food — They play the same game with booze — Yup, your unlimited drinking package is limited to drinks under 13$ — which in the overpriced vacation land ... every drink is basically 13 and up ... if you like beer and cheap wine, drinking package of great — if you like the finer things in life ... pay up Out of all the buy ins — I strongly suggest the spa buy in — once you explore the 4 main decks of the ship (that are not cabins) you will get bored pretty quick — the spa is a GREAT place to escape to and makes you feel like you’ve upgraded to “the haven” for about 100-150 per person (split that up for 7-8 days and it’s a fair price) — NOTE if the sea gets rough they will shut down the main spa / hot tub Over all — this is a great starter ship or budget ship to go on — it’s not gonna blow your away, but it’s just enough to have a good time at a reasonable price.

It was wonderful yet stressful because we always had to worry about our account on board and what was being charged and having to have them correct it and got us our cruise but then the locations in Ports that we originally had chosen we’re not where we went and we got no discounts yet others did so we would highly not recommend going through nor going through Norwegian.com we would highly recommend you go directly to the cruise company to schedule your next cruise and not a travel agency there are many other cruises out there besides Norwegian because Norwegian seem like to be oh about the money so we could never really relax it was kind of stressful

Keep up the good work Norwegian, this is my 3rd time sailing on the Gem and I've never regretted it.

The cruise started with bad weather the first two days, something expected sailing out of New York in the winter months. When we got down past Florida the weather was perfect! We had a very nice time. I would recommend this cruise!

had much better cruises with NCL in the past. big disappointment

All went well till day 7 and the disembarkation. Very un-organized. Time lines werent remotely close. Crew had no answers Were given wrong directions twice Lacking staff/short staff

First time on NCL, but we're done with cruises for a while based on this last experience. Not the worst one we've been on but the disembarkation process was terrible and ruined the whole trip.

I will not recommend this cruise, the Capitan decided not to stop at St. Thomas we were at sea for over 3 days and arrive late to the port. There was very poor announcements. Over all I am very disappointed with The Cruise line and the way the cruise Capitan manage.

This was my first Cruise on the Norwegian line and it will be my last. I will go back to Royal Caribbean for my next cruise. On Royal, the I seem to have a better experience all around.

If you cruised before, you will be disappointed. Obvious cutbacks on food quality and service. Make sure you get a bargain on this ship, don’t pay all the money.

No complaints except for second hand smoke. Very disappointed no long sailings from Boston to the Caribbean in 2020

This was a great cruise. Six islands in six days. Love leaving from Boston.

I had a great time there could be some improvements but I would going again with this ship if they do some improvements and the ports were different

We had not cruised since '98, now we're looking to possibly cruise yearly.

We'd definitely do this cruise again, but we see it isn't offered (yet) next year. We only lost 2 pool days (first and last days) due to cold weather. Love the ship, staff, specialty restaurants and NCL's policy for their drink, dining and internet freebies.

I will not likely sail on Norwegian again based on my negative experience.

Great weather, ship and companions. Staff could not have been better.

Luckily I have The love of a lifetime so every cruise is awesome. Ship was nice, Norwegian needs to start rethinking the entire operating theory. Cabin steward didn’t go out of their way. Food was lacklustre in main and buffet. Entertainment is forever moving around the ship, just stop and leave the Party in each area for longer than 45 minutes... sweet Jesus! No duelling pianos was very disappointing. Entertainment of live bands was over at 11 each night
