Norwegian reliably delivered its delicious food, freedom to come & go on our own schedule (for food & excursions) and attentive service.

We especially enjoyed listening and dancing to guitar music by Leo and piano by Dana (with singing), both of whom were very accommodating to guest requests. Sometimes Leo encouraged other guests to sing along on stage with him, and we did not like that, as we were there to hear professional entertainment, not karaoke. We wish there were more designated places to dance on the ship (specifically, where these two perform, i.e., the atrium and the Magnums lounge).

Enjoyed the islands...onboard experience was a complete disappointment. Personally the money that I  paid did not match the service that I  received.... will not cruise Norwegian in the future.

We selected this particular cruise due to it's itinerary as well as it's price compared to other cruise lines.  We were not disappointed.  NCL does a great job taking care of their guests aboard the ship (although the on board "extras" can be a bit pricey).  They always kept the Port call schedules and made it very easy to get on and off the ship.

Arriving for the first day,

 Entertainment for the Latinos on board was extremely limited, all the music venues were directed to the American population.

The Latino night the DJ only played two Latin dance songs one merengue and one salsa song the rest were reggaetón or pop music.

We Latinos like to dance to salsa, merengue, bacahata and cha cha cha just to name a few.  The majority of us were board there was nothing for us to entertain ourselves after 6pm.

I would not recommend this cruise line to my Latinos friends.

Le Bistro is a classy and worthwhile dining experience.  Breakfast in the Grand Pacific is a relaxing way to start your day.  The Broadway-style shows are FABULOUS!

The islands are beautiful, the water clear and warm. The cruise itself was delightful. Food was good everywhere we ate. I loved the "washy washy, happy happy" put a smile on our faces.

I understand people get sick, but did every passenger onboard have to suffer in 2016 because of the mishaps of one passenger?!!?  We lost an entire island because of this incident!  And to make matters worse, we went to one of the worst islands in the carribean where there's hardly anything to do!  TV's never worked correctly throughout the cruise and went completely off almost two days before the end of the cruise!  My bathroom in my balcony cabin had a foul odor that was never gotten rid of!  I guess the best part of the cruise was having someone else make my bed!  I had a great steward!

overall the cruise was very nice, however staff wise I wasn't impressed many of them were rude or as I felt like I was bothering them when I asked for anything. 

We have sailed on the Gem in the past and this is our first sailing since it's renovation.  The ship is a beauty and the crew shines as true gems themselves.  The food was fabulous and the entertainment truly enjoyable.  We look forward to sailing on the Gem in the future.

Enjoyed being with our friends.  Food was good.  Liked buffet best due to selection.  The evening shows in Stardust theatre were good.  The shore excursions were okay, but needed more free time for shopping or exploring on our own.  We were disappointed that the Tall Ship excursion in Halifax had to be cancelled due to weather.  Wish there had been something similar to that, that we could have done in one of the other ports with better weather. It was the excursion I was looking most forward to.

The ports. Our steward was great. It was clean. The main dining room was beautiful. The entertainment was enjoyable. The casino staff was friendly.  The casino bartender was the best. 

UR INSIDE ROOMS R WAY TO SMALL..AND U DO NOT OFFER ENOUGH SUGAR FREE CHOOSES.. THERE SHOULD BE MORE OF A SLECTION ON THE SUGAR FREE DESERTS..   WE WILL NEVER CRUISE WITH NCL EVER AGAIN 

We sailed with 2 brothers and sister and their spouses.  We had a good time together.  We were disappointed with the cruise itself though.  We bought the ultimate beverage package, but bottled water and cappuccino was an extra charge.  Also there were upcharges in the main dining rooms.  Thought that the food could have been better.  They also held promotional meetings in the common areas, so it was hard to relax in the pub nearby.

The friendly crew provided good service to be thankful for.

Enjoyed the following shore excursions very much:

Views of Halifax, Saint John Highlights, Lighthouses of Maine, and Great Mansions & Newport Highlights.

Will gladly recommend this cruise to our friends family to take.

No need to change anything, just keep on doing what you do best!

The cruise was nice enough and the ports were awesome, but we were some of the youngest people and I felt like I was in a nursing home.  The people were nice, but there was often nowhere to sit to eat in the buffet areas, forcing us to sit outside in the rain and/or cold. The balcony stateroom was nice, but the toilet area was too small for my husband who is a big guy. The buffet food was very repetitive and there was rarely more than one place to eat breakfast after 9 AM, forcing us to always eat at the buffet. The specialty restaurants were great!!  I had set up a payment arrangement once onboard and now that I am home, it looks like I may have been overcharged by $1000, despite what my invoice says...looks like I will be on the phone a lot. Fun.   I don't think I will sail with them again and I am kind of turned off by cruises now and this wasn't my first. 

Food and wait staff in main dining room was very good. Biggest issue was the lack of sea day activities. The entertainment was mediocre. Ports of call were not very interesting. All and all this cruise was not a good value for what we paid for it. I would not recommend this cruise. 

The NCL Gem is a comfortable ship. It's not as big as the newer ships, which is good ecause it allows you to get around faster and familiarize yourself with all venues available. Staff is always friendly and the atmosphere onboard is upbeat. It is newly redone and the changes are all positive. I recommend going to the specialty restaurants. The Gem provides a pleasant getaway. I cruise on it at least oncea year. It is like an old friend!

Our favorite part of this cruise were the destinations. We enjoyed Peggy's Cove a lot. But feel we were not given enough time there to see everything. By time we climbed the rocks and looked at the lighthouse we had to get back to the bus. 

Portland, Maine was terrific. The seafood there was the best! 

We did not see any fall folliage due to the very warm weather the leaves were still green. Regardless, the scenery was beautiful!
