Review summary

Arriving for the first day,

Entertainment for the Latinos on board was extremely limited, all the music venues were directed to the American population.

The Latino night the DJ only played two Latin dance songs one merengue and one salsa song the rest were reggaetón or pop music.

We Latinos like to dance to salsa, merengue, bacahata and cha cha cha just to name a few.  The majority of us were board there was nothing for us to entertain ourselves after 6pm.

I would not recommend this cruise line to my Latinos friends.

Ship tip

If your are Hispanic and like to dance this is not the cruise line for you. Norwegian is American oriented the music is not for the Hispanics that enjoy to dance while cruising.

The music I heard on the boat was a wide variety of every bit of music that is out there.

I can't get this review out of my mind. What right does anyone have to demand that their nationality be catered to ? Most people see what is available, and make the most of it. But to condemn an entire line because they didn't cater to you ....NCL is better off without your complaining. Try an all inclusive in DR.

Funny that you would state that they catered to the " American population ". My experience(s) is that no one populace is catered to.

Last July we took an NCL cruise on the Gem and loved it! And everyday poolside we were serenaded with Latin music. Probably depends on band that is hired for particular gig.

Last November I was on the Epic in Europe and they had a Dominican group playing Latin music

Well that can't please everyone. They probably go with the majority.

I know how you feel. The music l like to listen to and dance to is often not played on the ship. Maybe 1 or 2 songs per set. But I make the best of it.

Maybe you could try a Latino based ship next time.

When I was on the gem last year they definitely played Latino music mostly, we wanted a mix. I'm guessing it depends on the DJ

Not sure what to tell you. I've been on Carnival ships that have a salsa band and they pull very small groups into the club.
