Review summary

I understand people get sick, but did every passenger onboard have to suffer in 2016 because of the mishaps of one passenger?!!?  We lost an entire island because of this incident!  And to make matters worse, we went to one of the worst islands in the carribean where there's hardly anything to do!  TV's never worked correctly throughout the cruise and went completely off almost two days before the end of the cruise!  My bathroom in my balcony cabin had a foul odor that was never gotten rid of!  I guess the best part of the cruise was having someone else make my bed!  I had a great steward!

My bathroom stunk throughout! I was told in 2015 that the Gem was going to be completely refurbished! Well there were only a few minor changes that I notice and nothing new about the cabins!

I was just on a cruise and there was 2 airlift emergencies and one emergency got off in Florida and a ambulance was waiting for him. the 2 airlifts...one was related from a serious fall and the other was a elderly lady had pneumonia. so sad

We've been on a ship during an airlift emergency. Hope the OP never needs one. The last thought on anyone's mind should be how it ruined their vacation. Selfish, ME generation cruisers. Too many 16th place trophies on the mantle.

Been on 40 cruises in ten years. Tragically had a crew member jump over board on one. We got home 10 hours late but who cares. Shame on you. A person gets air lifted and you are upset you missed an island. That's what is hard with cruises. You have 4000 people on a boat and get a couple complainers

I was on that cruise. Hope you or a family member never experience having to be air lifted. So insensitive, damn!

Just looked into it, it was a 76 year old man suffering from appendicitis...

I was on the ship during the medical emergency. Not sure of all the details but someone was airlifted by the coast guard. It happened on the second sea day I believe, we just past Bermuda and was told we would have to stop in PR so coast guard could airlift. They scrapped that plan and turned around to meet them near Bermuda. Coast Guard did a successful rescue (thank God) which was very intense to watch. The next day (third sea day) we were told we'd be going to Tortola in replace of Antigua. Although the i was looking forward to Antigua, I'm grateful the patient was airlifted safely and we didn't lose a whole island.

Ah ok. Sigh.

^^^^ If that's the case ^^^^, which is what I suspected, the op clearly is a clueless, classless, entitled, self absorbed, selfish dolt.

Kknorr I just read a review where it went to a different island because someone had to be airlifted.. mishap of a passenger OP, REALLY?? I hope you never have a "mishap" and have to be airlifted... I mean after all you wouldn't want to be selfish, get hurt and unintentionally piss other passengers off due to a "mishap"... SMH.

I'm curious what sailing this was, as there are no other recent reviews mentioning anything similar. Of course the OP has no cruises listed in their profile.

Take a breath......now can you give us details.

ladyluck120    8 years ago

what was the mishap of the passenger? Death?

?????????????????????????????

I have no clue what you are talking about. If someone would either die or you get an island, as a human most people would say I will miss an island if the other choice is someone dies. Funny how the cruise contract only guarantees food and accommodations, not ports.
