Review summary

All the staff was great. Food and restaurants were good. Since there were no sea days this cruise, we didn’t get to enjoy the ship as much as we would have liked.

Not much time for onboard activity. We were in a different port every day.

Cabin / Stateroom

Standard balcony cabin with a PrivaSea balcony. I really liked this type of balcony because it was completely private. Even leaning over the railings, you could not see your neighbors. You could still hear neighbors when out on balcony, though.

Ship tip

Ask for coffee maker and/or ice daily from your cabin steward if you want those items. They are not automatic on standard balcony cabins.

Ports of call

Ravenna, Italy

We didn’t visit Ravenna. When the Venice port was canceled, Norwegian arranged for a free shuttle from Ravenna to Venice. It was a 2 1/2 hr bus ride but I was very happy we still got to go to Venice. That was my main reason for choosing this particular cruise. And Venice was amazing to see and walk around. Loved it!

Zakynthos, Greece

Worst excursion ever. No working air conditioning on the bus. Over an hour drive up a curvy mountain road. This was not described in the advertisement for this excursion. And then “we” ran out of time and missed the highlight of this excursion. No time to stop! We arrived back at port late, along with several other buses and then had to wait over 1 1/2 hrs in the hot sun to be loaded into the tender boats. Poor planning by Norwegian not having enough tenders.

Livorno (Florence & Pisa), Italy

Our excursion was Pisa and the beach! Pisa was amazing. We spent over an hour there to walk around, take pictures and shop. The Leaning Tower was something I was very excited to see and it did not disappoint. Then we drove to a resort beach which was very European chic. Spent about 3 hours there. The sea though, was nothing compared to the seas in Greece. Water was brownish and dirty with seaweed and plant particles.

Dubrovnik, Croatia

We walked from new port to the old walled city of Dubrovnik. It was about a 45 minute walk, not bad for us as we are used to walking. We enjoyed the old town with the marble streets and buildings. And seeing the old port.

Santorini, Greece

Another beach day at a black sand beach. Then transported back to Fira. Shopped awhile, but way too many people. Had to fight your way through the narrow streets. Decided to walk down the 600 steps to the Tender boats. Passed many donkeys. It was an experience!

Piraeus (Athens), Greece

Went to the Acropolis and Parthenon. A must see. Again, thousands of people, but the tour guides certainly know how to deal with it. Enjoyed it very much.

Mykonos, Greece

Beach again. This was by far my favorite beach location. Crystal clear calm water again. Beautiful blue water. Nice sandy beach. Perfect day!

Kotor, Montenegro

Took excursion to Perast (quaint small village) and then back to Kotor to have guided tour of another walled city. Very impressive.

Corfu, Greece

Excursion to a beach! Crystal clear calm waters. Enjoyed the day.

Catania, Sicily

We walked from port to city. Easily walkable city. Beautiful architecture. Wonderful open air markets. Nice pedestrian streets. Loved it.

TRIESTE (VENICE), ITALY

Embarkation port. Didn’t really visit other than bus ride from Venice airport to port. Looked like a nice city.
