It's a hit and miss. Most will have a great time. We splurged for a 5 star vacation but got a bad room, bad service, average food and an indifferent customer relations response. Despite contacting guest relations all they had to offer were platitudes, canned advice and a 1000$ credit for 2 of use and 200$ for another 2 towards another cruise which had to be within 12 months and the offer could be combined. If they treated us like this when we spent 12000$ for the cabin I doubt we would want to spend another 10000$ to sail with them again. This is our experience and I'm sure cannot be generalized. If something bad happens don't expect any classy response. Don't book any excursions through them if you can avoid it. Best thing is to book a private car. Cheaper and more efficient.

I have used this cruuse line over 20 years ago and loved it. I have cruised many times in the past on other ships and this trip was not up to par for dining and staff

Don't lose your wallet on the ship or else you will be subjected to humiliation and threatened in front of everyone.

Elevators do not go to deck 5, you must take an escalator, still not sure how a disabled person would get to deck 5. We saw quite a few people with walkers trying to navigate the escalators, it was a little concerning. Take advantage of the specialty dining restaurants, the food was very good. The Taste restaurant serves the same menu as the Manhattan and regardless of what the sign says in front of the restaurant regarding dress code, it is up to the host as to whether they will seat you or not. I saw men turned away because they were wearing dress shorts, when it clearly said shorts were acceptable, but other women allowed in with torn jeans and flip flops and even a woman with gym shorts and a NY Nicks ragged T-shirt when those things were not supposed to be allowed. Book guided excursions or you will be completely on your own with no recourse if you don't get to see the tourist site you paid for due to ineptness of the local tourist authority to plan and staff accordingly for ticket sales. The tourist places are in total disarray, no organization, no efficiency. They act like this is their first day of operation when in fact they do this every day for thousands of people, you think by this time they would have had it working more like a well oiled machine and less like a demolition derby. This is not NCL's fault, but a little information goes a long way.

My only complaint is that I booked through an agent and I was unable to get any of the special deals offered to others...discounts etc. I had to get past feeling nickeled and dimed to death for a drink or internet emergency. Being solo the packages offered were far more in quantity and cost that I could justify. I know that is how they make their money, but it was quite offputting. I had to get past it and accept it was likely part of the business. Being my first cruise it was my highest adjustment. I will say that the ship is quite big and it was a full ship. I might choose something smaller next time.

Use your phone to take a picture of the day's activities. Purchased inexpensive lanyards at Walmart that carried cell phone and had a slot for your charging card....very handy.

Don't take this ship or cruise line. They are not out to give you a good time. They are out to nickel and dime you.

Buy the water unless you plan on chugging water in port. The water on board can make you sick if you have a sensitive stomach. The water is a bit exorbitant in price, however, I wish they would allow people to bring their own water on board and maybe just limit it to less than a case.
