Loved cruising again! It wasn’t the itinerary that was as important to us as the onboard experience. We encountered a lot of rain during the first part of the cruise so I would suggest thinking twice about visiting that area past the middle of October. But we enjoyed our trip very much in spite of the weather.
Embarkation
4 out of 5
Pre embarkation Covid test quick and simple. Priority check in we were only ones in line. Had to wait in 2 different lounges after checking to board. A little disappointed that, unlike previous NCL cruises, we were escorted on to ship in group of 4 couples instead of individual couples by a butler.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Food in Haven was wonderful but it lacks variety. However, the menu never changes. I would like to see local dishes and some sort of changes because with limited choices, I found myself eating same few meals.
Onboard Activities
5 out of 5
The Haven pool area was very nice and the fitness center had plenty of equipment and lots of variety. We did not use other pools, water slides, rock climbing…….
Entertainment
4 out of 5
What we saw was very good but a lot of the evening entertainment was not what we normally enjoy.
Children's Programs
We sailed without children
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Impeccable service in all areas of the ship. Our room steward and butler were excellent!!! All staff in Haven restaurant and bar were wonderful! Concierge very helpful with the few needs we had.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
Very clean and well organized ship layout
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
We placed a bid to upgrade our cabin to Owner’s Suite and it was accepted. It was well worth the expense as we spent a lot of time on board. It was a very spacious cabin with an enclosed patio. So wonderful that we could use our balcony when it was cold, raining or windy. We also had glass from floor to ceiling from the living room to patio, bedroom and bathroom. It was nice having a 2nd half bathroom and a soaker tub in addition to the oversized shower. We were spoiled!
Ship tip
During these times one must be patient and flexible. We experienced changes to the itinerary which were disappointing but out of anyone’s control. Take a chance on bidding for an upgraded cabin. For a fraction of the cost you could find yourself in a larger cabin with more amenities.
We had to miss Rhodes which was a replacement port for Turkey due to an impending strike. We docked a day early giving us one last leisurely day in our beautiful suite.
