The observation lounge is a great place to relax, go to far end of buffet less people, most stop at first food sighting

It’s a very confusing ship

The Encore is a new, fun ship with excellent food and entertainment. You can have an enjoyable cruise without dishing out more money. However, be prepared to pay for items such as the go-carts, lasertag, and Galaxy. The specialty dining is extra but usually is a perk you can choose when you book. (Have to pre-pay the gratuities). I think the liquor package is the best in the industry. Again, can be a perk and you pre-pay the gratuities.

Make reservations for specialty dining and onboard activities in advance.

Do not miss The Choir of Man!!

It's not an all inclusive ship

Enjoy the Observation Lounge. There are couches everywhere for you to relax on and food and drinks can be found in this quiet escape as well. The views are spectacular as they are the exact same that you would see from the bridge of the ship. This space made for a wonderful retreat from the busy-ness of the rest of the ship to simply unwind.

As soon as you book you want to get in on all the excursions, dining, and spa reservations EARLY!! That is the best advice I could give to a new cruiser.

Eat dinner at Taste instead of the main dining room. Same food, but a beautiful intimate space.

Bring lots of extra money.

be prepared to have lots of fun

Take full advantage of all of the entertainment venues on this ship. If you don't have a good time, it is your own fault! There is something for everyone of this ship. The shows are outstanding! If you don't like the theatre, there are SO many other choices, both during the day and in the evening. The Observation Lounge was one of my favorite spot on the ship. The look and feel is that of the Haven, but you don't have to be in the Haven to take advantage of it. Furnishings are upscale- chaise lounges and little nooks to take in the view. The bar there was empty the entire cruise- this is a don't miss!

Book restaurant reservations prior to boarding or on the first day, especially in a large group.

If you look down on the carpet there are fishing pointing in the direction that you are heading so that you know if you are going forward or aft. Download the NCL app on your phone you can use it even if you do not get the internet package to communicate. Definitely book shows, specialty dinner and excursions ahead of time. You can also book on large screen on the ship and you can even do so on the tv in your room but if you book it ahead of time you have a better chance of doing what you would like to do.

Book your shows & Dining as far ahead as possible

Make sure you book everything right when you get on ship (or you will not be able to do what you want). Do not get internet upgrades. INCREDIBLY SLOW!
nmkt
don't if you're counting on using the waterslides, pools, racetrack--just too many people and not enough hours of operation for these activities

Get to the port early and get on the ship as early as possible. Secure your dining, show and activity reservations as soon as possible, as many of the prime times were already gone.
