Unless you really love your sea days, this itinerary on this ship is not for you. With the arrival at the first port at 5 PM on day three, you really have 4 sea days, two in the beginning and two in the end. As you would expect on a ship carrying 4,000 passengers, all of the public areas were crowded, and many of the activities & attractions operated on a limited basis.
Embarkation
5 out of 5
Very smooth, no issues, on ship before 11:30 AM
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
5 out of 5
Never ate in the MDR, but ate in Taste a & Savor (same menu) for several breakfasts, lunches and dinner. Buffet was great and specialty ding venues were over the top
Onboard Activities
3 out of 5
Pool deck is small, but the staff did a great job of dealing with the chair hogs. The pay activities were crowded at all times and seem to operate on a very limited basis
Entertainment
3 out of 5
Production shows were terrific, but the musical groups were so so; Latin musicians doing Elvis and Queen were a bit of a stretch.
Children's Programs
No schildren in our party
Service and Staff
5 out of 5
Every staff member was absolutely wonderful. They truly assembled the "a" team for the launch of this vessel.
Ship Quality
5 out of 5
The ship was similar enough to the the other Breakaway / Breakaway plus ships that you were able to find your way around, but some changes/improvements were made as a result of past passenger comments.
Cabin / Stateroom
5 out of 5
Nothing special, a standard balcony cabin. But the room steward (Dal) was exceptional.
Ship tip
Get to the port early and get on the ship as early as possible. Secure your dining, show and activity reservations as soon as possible, as many of the prime times were already gone.
Poor weather on arrival, so I didn't do an excursion here either, but our traveling companions took the ferry over to Virgin Gorda and visited the baths. The had a great time.
