A: I felt like we were right on the edge a lot. all i could think about was a land slide and how the hill was not reinforced. I think it's going to collapse one day. I'm not trying to be funny. I'm glad i did it, i think you'll be fine from a hieght... h perspective just because the mountain side of the train gives a feeling of security.See More

A: I just did the train ride last week. I think you’ll be fine. You’re never really on the ‘edge”. You are a distance from any drop offs. I would say, the beauty is worth the excursion. Highly recommend. I did the bus out, train back. With the Suspensio... n bridge in the Yukon. You’d likely not want the suspension bridge excursion.See More

A: Formal nights are mostly a thing of the past. Yes, they may declare a night to “dress to the nines” but you’ll find everyone dresses to their style and desire (within the dinner guidelines).

Q: I don’t like doing scheduled excursions on vacation I always feel rushed but haven’t been able to go to these ports before. It’s 2 adults, 2 kids NCL Encore 12/15/24-12/22 I’m trying to decide whether to do the all inclusive resort for puerto plata or Tortola island? My 12 year old has mobility issues with walking so hikes into the jungle just would make her miserable. 4th time cruising first time booking an excursion at all. A: Puerta plata has an excellent place right off the cruise ship dock that you can thoroughly enjoy yourself all day. Free. Lazy River. Poolside bar and dj. Shops, restaurants, bars, massages. All you can ask for and the pool and lazy river are free... . Also have a surfing simulator on water. Can’t go wrong.See More

A: "walking" track is a joke, stick to a dreadmill on this ship. The track is covered with lounge chairs during the day.

Q: I’m traveling solo. Any tips on how to best enjoy my time there (safely)? I’m a social person but also like my alone moments. Not looking to make new best friends on the cruise, but I do find making connections/conversations always makes any trip more enjoyable for me.

A: I have taken nine solo cruises with NCL. There has not been one cruise where some social connections of various types have not arisen naturally, without my having to try at all. That’s just the nature of cruising, in my experience. I relish my alone... time, too. I don’t even seek out these connections. If you are a social person, you will naturally gravitate to situations to socialize. Don’t worry about it. The cruise atmosphere is very friendly. Relax and have fun.See More

A: An easy way to meet people is to go to trivia and ask anyone if you can join thier team. Obviously not everyone is as friendly as others but I've done that

Q: NCL cruise - Travelling next week . Cruise is from Seattle to Alaska with a small stopover at icyoria , British Columbia . I have parents from overseas and will they need Canadian visa even if staying on board . What do they check for foreign passports upon boarding and if they don’t intend to disembark at Canada will it be OK ? I feel that 4 hour stop is quite an overhead also while booking they did not say about the requirement and advised they could be on board .. Am a bit confused when I look on Canadian website . Also not getting meaningful info from anyone from NCL or their partner Visa Central . People who have visited or with similar situation can you please share what to do and what to expect ??

Answer Question
Q: I have tendinitis so can’t always walk very far. Was going to request that my balcony stateroom be located near the elevators but am concerned that will also be noisier (I’ve stayed in paper-thin wall hotels where you can hear everyone walking by and every-time the elevator opens and closes). Was this an issue for anyone staying near an elevator?

A: I would avoid a cabin directly next to the elevator lobby, but generally get one relatively close. I’ve never had an issue with noise. The best thing you can do to reduce noise issues is select a cabin location where you have other cabins on both sid... es, across the hall, as well as above and below you. The only thing I normally hear from the hallway is people letting their doors slam.See More

A: They are an obvious fire hazard, which is a big deal at sea. Not available in cabins. You can ask for one to be loaned for an hour or so. Room steward brings it.

Q: Has anyone done excursions from companies not via the ship? Wondering about debarking timing and process at ports. For example if it arrives at a port at 7am and we set up an excursion pick up at 7:30, is that too close?

A: We do all the time. The tour guides are aware of delays and always give you time to get off the ship. We have used Trip Advisor and Viator. Never had a issue getting back on time either

A: We have booked through Trip Advisor and Viator. They always allow time to get off the ship and never missed one. The tour guides do usually watch the dockings and known when there are delays
Answered by JuliebSteveb on June 8, 2023
A: Contact the company you want to make a reservation with. Thats what I did. That’s a complicated answer. Depends on your party, the port, type of tour, the meeting spot, etc.
