Very seamless boarding the ship. I arrived a bit late so the lines were short, but everyone who greeted me was very friendly and helpful. Since we weren’t sailing to another port, the ship did not leave the pier.

Food and drink was excellent. We frequented the District which is a craft brew bar and had a decent selection of IPA’s and Stouts. The Encore also has a full Starbucks if you need your kick (it’s a real Starbucks, not a “proudly serving”). I enjoyed a “Bloody Maria” which is a Bloody Mary with tequila at the A-List bar. Maltings is a whiskey / cigar bar where I enjoyed an Old Fashioned and a cigar I brought from home (they weren’t able to sell me any since we hadn’t left the dock so luckily I had one of my own.

The staff was great, from the folks greeting you on board, from the bartenders and wait staff to the concierge. Housekeeping was excellent. Very friendly, informative, and always willing to help you.
Ship Quality

It had that “new ship smell” so what could I say that was negative! The ship was elegant but modern and fun. Lots of nooks and crannies to explore.
Cabin / Stateroom

My room was aft and very comfortable. Had a great view from my balcony, I can only imagine if I was sailing in the Caribbean!!!
Ship tip
As soon as you book you want to get in on all the excursions, dining, and spa reservations EARLY!! That is the best advice I could give to a new cruiser.
