what a beautiful ship

The ship was absolutely beautiful. I thoroughly enjoyed everything it had to offer.

The ship was nice just loud no matter where you went. If your looking for a quiet diner for 2 somewhere for romance you won't find it here. All restaurants were wonderful as was the staff but you had to yell to be heard no matter where you were. Also couldn't buy bottled water on the boat and I drink alot of water.I also think the excursions were overpriced for what you got out of them.Overall it was a nice cruise but I don;t think I'd go again.It wasn't for my husband and I. We would of liked going to the island or the ports of call on our own staying in a hotel where time isn't a limit.

The ship is beutiful but poorly laid out, the service was ok but not the best , the specialty rest aurants were great. The casino stakes were too high .. No $5 tables. The Texas Hold em staff didn't know much about the game and made a lot of mistakes. The rooms themselves were very nice. Lot for children to do so that was a good point vs other NCLs we've taken that didn't have much for kids.

THE CABIN LAYOUT WAS POORLY DESINGED FOR FOUR GUESTS. ONLY HAVING ONE OF THE BEDS ON THE WALL AND THE OTHER IN THE MIDDLE BETWEEN THE OTHER TWO BEDS MADE IT FOR AN UNCONFORTABLE SITUATION WHEN IT CAME TO SLEEPING WITH TWO TEENAGE BOYS IN THE ROOM. THE MATTRESS IN THE PULL OUT BED WAS ROCK HARD. THE TELEVISION WAS SET UP IN SUCH A WAY THAT WHEN THE WALL BED WAS BROUGHT DOWN NO ONE IN THE ROOM COULD SEE THE TELEVISION.

This was my very first cruise and there could not have been a more perfect setting for it than the Norwegian Dawn. My eyes were filled with room after lovely room of exquisite art and architecture, from the Atrium to the Venetian Restaurant (which was visually my favorite place to eat). My sweetheart and I fell in love all over again with each other and the ship. Our stateroom was a mini suite, but though small, it was cozy. It was wonderful to listen to the ocean every night through our open balcony door and to sit over the ocean on our own little private deck. The food was fabulous; I tossed out all my resolve to watch what I ate before the first sunrise. I found the food in the Garden Cafe fine but my partner didn't want to eat in a "cafeteria atmosphere", so we ate in the specialty restaurants mostly. My only complaint on that score is not having a hot breakfast on the room service menu. The entertainers were pretty good, but everyone I spoke to had told me there would be a Broadway type show every night. If I hadn't been prepared to expect that, It would have been okay with me. The crew and staff were very accommodating and all in all, I plan to cruise instead of fly whenever I can. Thank you all for a terrific experience. Yours very sincerely, Clothilde Watkins

There are too many hidden charges, 42$ for a soft drinks(free on holland america) a week , kids juice 1.50$(free on holland america) a glass overpriced drinks,tips that are included in the price of everything on the ship, staff that is looking for more tips,kids (under 2 years unfriendly).only one pool for 2500 people.This cruis sucked so bad i will never go on the cruise againe....

I cruised on the Dawn two years ago and it felt like a differnet ship this time. It could have been partly that there was over 600 children cruising this week. Freestyle has certainly changed alot in two years. You wouldn't know that there was even one formal night on this ship. I think this ship had the feel of a Carnival Ship from ten years ago. More middle aged people walking around with helmets of beer then I have seen on other ships. Also a lot more people trying to enter the dining rooms at dinner time in shorts or blue jeans and being turned away. It appeared if you wore black or other color jeans it was okay. If you don't care what time you eat dinner at everynight and don't want to dress up any night this is a good choice.

We recently sailed on the Norwegian Dawn and were pleased with our choice. The ship was beautiful both inside and out. The kids club was excellent with different groupings for different age children. There were activities planned for the children for 'at sea' days and the option was available for babysitting during the 'in port' days. The club was colorful and clean and the employees were caring and very good with the children. The ship itself was clean as were the cabins. Friendliness of the crew was sporadic. Some were very nice and others were not. The main dining rooms were beautiful and the food was excellent. The selection of specialty restaurants was diverse and the food good, however if reservations were not made during the first 1 or 2 days of the cruise, you were out of luck. Walking into a specialty restaurant on the night you wanted to dine and getting a table was out of the question. It seemed as though all of the tables were held for reservations with none left for the 'spur of the moment' diner. Norwegian adds a set amount to your final bill for tipping the crew which we found to be very convenient but we weren't sure if that made for better service or not. We live in NJ and the convenience of leaving from New York City was wonderful. The cruise ship terminal was easy to find and plenty of parking was available. Overall, we were happy with our choice and would recommend this ship.

i loved freestyle dining, but trying to get into restaurants was not a good experiance.Always told they were full but when you walk buy lots of empty tables.

What a great cruise! We enjoyed our stateroom, staff, food & entertainment. We cruise quite a bit and this was by far one of our favorite cruises! Great value for such an awesome cruise. The entertainment was spectacular. We wouldn't miss one show. Food was terrific. Top notch with a wonderful presentation. Ship was superior in cleanliness, and flair. I can't say enough about what a great ship and time we had. Can't wait to go again!

This was my first cruise and my boyfriend and I had a blast. The room was cozy and our steward kept it neat as a pin. The restaurants were beautiful and delicious and I really liked the entertainment. The magician, the juggler and the improv comedy were all excellent. Jimmy the cruise director kept us in stitches. I enjoyed the information about the Dawn and the behind the scenes look at crew life. I enjoyed a couple of the seminars and the barbeque's on the beach and at the pool. I loved that you could get an ice cream cone whenever you wanted (when the weather was good) There did seem to be a lot of selling, tho. I heard one of the excursions was to Walmart in Florida. But I really enjoyed Great Stirrup Cay. The onboard gym was excellent, well equipped and had a friendly staff. A shame the classes came with a charge. I just had a marvelous experience. I also enjoyed fellow cruisers.

The cruise director and staff kept everyone informed each day about activities and directions for going ashore, etc. They were constantly among the passengers having as good a time as we were.

I have been on 5 cruises prior to this one and found the staff that I came in contact with to be very friendly and courtious. The food selection was very diverse"some thing for every one" The specialty restaurants excellant, the casino staff were very willing to explian all the gamming rules. What made me feel most comfortalbe was being greeted by my name when a stewart passed me in the corridors or at the casino , even at dinner by the waiters and being asked if I was haveing an enjoyable vacation.

This was a beautiful ship. I would have preferred a different itinirary. The staff always did everything they could to make the cruise great.

We have recently returned from our honeymoon cruise on the Norweign Dawn, and I must say it left A LOT to be desired. The idea of "Freestyle Cruising" where you can eat whenever you want does not exist after 10pm. Three times we went to the Garden Cafe for "late snacks" and were able to eat only once. The other 2x there was nothing available. The itinery would have been great if it had been arranged in a more favorable way. Who wants to spend the majority of their cruise at the private island were there is nothing to do but swim, and have NO time in the shopping ports. We were also apparently on a cruise for people with special needs, and had not been informed of this. Norwegian Dawn also does not offer any special services to it's honeymooners, unless you want to pay extra. We did not even get any cute towel animals. On the plus side, we really enjoyed the excursions.

I was pleased with the availability of health promoting activities. They had many options in the spa including acupuncture. They also had fitness classes such as pilates and spinning which they did charge a fee for. We also liked the choice for light cooking food which was wonderful (although it would be nice to have the nurtitional content provided as well). The availability of seminars that focused on health related topics was nice as well. Although, it must be noted that they are often followed up by a quick plug for a product by the speaker.

Although an overall good experience, the quality of food to me was below my last cruise on Carnival. Also the presentation of the buffet was not as good as carnival. The staff was very courtious and addressed every need.

An overall good experience. Well laid out ship. Fun had by all in our 6 person party. Lost some money in the casino but that was my fault not my wifes.
