Disappointed honeymooner

Sail Date: October 22, 2006

Traveled As: Couple

Room Type: Balcony

We have recently returned from our honeymoon cruise on the Norweign Dawn, and I must say it left A LOT to be desired. The idea of "Freestyle Cruising" where you can eat whenever you want does not exist after 10pm. Three times we went to the Garden Cafe for "late snacks" and were able to eat only once. The other 2x there was nothing available. The itinery would have been great if it had been arranged in a more favorable way. Who wants to spend the majority of their cruise at the private island were there is nothing to do but swim, and have NO time in the shopping ports. We were also apparently on a cruise for people with special needs, and had not been informed of this. Norwegian Dawn also does not offer any special services to it's honeymooners, unless you want to pay extra. We did not even get any cute towel animals. On the plus side, we really enjoyed the excursions.

Pros: The balconey cabin was perfect

Cons: food service and availability

Recommends Norwegian Dawn? No.

Port Canaveral, Florida
We had a great time at Universal studios.
Don't Miss: Universal was the only thing we had time to see
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island
The dolphine encounter was great. Wish there was more time alloted to see more of the island and shop a little
Don't Miss: Dolphine encounter
Nassau, Bahamas
Who knows, we were only in this port for 2 half days and it did not really leave time to see anything and so the shopping was limited.

Great Stirrup Cay (Cruiseline Private Island), Bahamas
As this was the private island, 4-5 hours would have been sufficient. I really did not like wasting an entire day on an island were the only things availabe to do were swimming related.
