This was at best a very marginal cruise and for all purposes a cruise that we did not really enjoy. by billsalinsky

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

All in all a rather terrible cruise, not one that I would recommend to anyone, and I will not go on another NCL ship again!!

Beautiful Alaska by luyano728

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

The Bliss is a wonderful ship and Alaska is extremely beautiful, even majestic. We enjoy the cruise. Everyone should visit this lovely and remote place. We were recommended by friends to winter clothes and rain gear but the weather cooperated and it was sunny and 60 degrees every day. It never rained. We saw snow covered mountains, lots of bald eagles and the tail of a whale. Loved every minute!

Great trip by pippi1903

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

It was a good trip with beautiful weather. Disappointed that the Bliss was docked the farthest from the port every time. It really affected our time in port.

This is the beginning of my cruising life! by MissyJenny

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

This is our first cruise ever and it won't be our last. It was a good experience even though we had weather that disrupted our plans. The food was mostly good. I also liked that there were sit down restaurants that were not part of the specialty dining. The staff started singing outside the Garden Cafe which was delightful. Our room steward was perfect. As I just wanted to relax, I didn't avail myself of the activities onboard but will certainly do so next time. One drawback was the internet package. Although I was told (onboard) that different devices can be used one at a time, it wasn't true. And the internet was sketchy and not all links could be loaded. The line for the guest services can be quite long and you cannot combine your onshore excursion request with guest service request, so in the end you have to wait in both lines. I gave up on the next cruise or cruise next line also.

The Norwegian Bliss was a nice ship, but maybe not for Alaska... by fbrammer

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

I'd definitely do Alaska again, but in a much smaller boat. I will do Norwegian again. We like the free style approach. I would gladly do The Bliss again, but in a Tropical climate.

Relaxing, enjoyable by DJS123

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

All personnel were efficient, professional, happy, charming, extremely hard working. The cruise hit the South East towns that were enjoyable, whales were everywhere, saw ice bergs, many other wildlife. It was a too short of a trip!

Top notch service on a gorgeous ship in a beautiful place! by bethanykate71

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Overall it was a wonderful cruise and experience. There was a lot of time at sea, which became pretty boring at times. I can't say enough about the service on the ship. It was the absolute best!

Great Bliss, but don't be Alaska Towns' First Ship! by Awai

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

Being on the Bliss was a great experience! Food and meeting staff from different countries was remarkable. Entertainment seemed limited but did participate in events like Bingo, Art Auction, Jersey Boys and Beatle Revival, limited gambling and giveaways. Talking with Ryan the Port Shopper was nice but appeared to be just for promotional purposes since we couldn't collect on his grand prize giveaway of a Tanzanite pendant unless we booked our next cruise, which I would not rather do with Norwegian. Norwegian got too big that their own staff didn't know what to expect, and to be given a map that didn't tell us we'd be 5 miles out of Ketchiken because they built their own port was unforgivable! Internet access even after purchasing additional was slow, of course no cell phone reception even if we in the U.S. didn't help trying to call for our own taxi, which staff was useless with so many. Cultural differences play a huge part in staffing as well as passengers, we should all learn to respect one another and learn to enjoy and not judge! I will never take the first Cruise ship to anywhere again!

Wonderful staff by nttsai

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Alaska - Inside Passage

It was an okay value for a cruise. Having been on other lines, I felt like NCL was finding little ways to squeeze more money out of me. The fees on the “everything included” package added hundreds more to the price. With specialty dining taking up prime viewing locations on the ship, it means either you squeeze into the observation lounge with the rest of the ship or pay to get a little peace and quiet. I think it’s a nice experience for some, but my personality prefers more decorum and respect for personal space. I probably would have done better in the Haven, but it cost thousands more for a room. The staff were exceptional. The food was beautifully prepared.

So Beautiful and relaxing, The weather kept us from utilizing the outdoor amenities and stopping at the victoria port but, it couldn't be helped. Otherwise, we found the crew to be amazing! so warm and attentive. Our cabin steward Gregoria was the best by b70leigh

Great cruise ... except for the COVID by wmbenedetto

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

The ship was great. The staff was great. The food was good. The entertainment was exceptional. The stops were underwhelming. But despite all precautions (vaccinations, negative covid test, wearing masks at all times), we still got COVID—our first time after being so careful for two years. Norwegian didn't test on the ship upon return, so we didn't find out we were positive until we got home and self-tested. We contacted Norwegian to let them know so they could do contact tracing for their staff (at least) and they had no way to report it. Two years into the pandemic, that's shocking. Expect to pay double what you paid for your cabin, when all is said and done. They add $16/person per day service fees, so that's an extra $450+ for 4 people. Excursions are ridiculously overpriced, but there's very little to do onshore without them. Drinks are $14/each. Specialty restaurants all cost extra. Parking at the port is $20/day. The go karts are $15/person per ride. The laser tag is like $9/person per session. The arcade games are $2 to $5 each. It adds up super quick.

Disappointing by aaronmacdonald1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Norwegian Bliss / Destination: Mexico

Our family was very disappointed in Norwegian. The kids club was closed and has been closed since November but no one was aware until one week before we went on the cruise. Then the kids were given $100 to spend in the arcades unknowingly that the card could keep being used past $100. Consequently my family was charged $600 extra for the arcade game use. Very unprofessional by Norwegian bliss to give this responsibility to children to monitor the amount of money they are spending on a game.
