All in all a rather terrible cruise, not one that I would recommend to anyone, and I will not go on another NCL ship again!!
Embarkation
1 out of 5
When we arrived at the ship, we had to go thru security and they tried to take a bottle of orange juice from us that I had to make sure that my wife did not have issues with he diabetes. After discussing it with a security supervisor, we were allowed to get to check in. At this point, I was glad that we had the OJ, check in was an absolute disaster and it took forever.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
1 out of 5
The specialty restaurants we good, the main dining rooms with the exception of the last night were OK, the buffet was ok, the "hot food" food was lukewarm to cold with the exception of omelets which were hot as they were cooked while you waited.
The last night, we went to the Manhattan Dining room for dinner, we waited for the crowd to be leaving the ship for Victoria and we were made to feel like we were imposing on the wait staff, the service was horrible, we waited forever for soft drinks, and when we did get our food, it was cold and the calamari was over cooked to a point that it was rubbery and could have been used as a rubber band. We did complain and again it took forever for an Assistant Maitre D to come to our table and after a couple of trips back and forth, she offered us a bottle of wine to make up for the horrible meal and then said that her supervisor wanted to speak with us but we had to go see them at another venue. At that point we left the ship to go ashore and then went back to our room to pack.
Onboard Activities

We did a couple of the shows and they were good, I used one of the "hot tubs" once and it was only warm. Being an Alaska cruise, I expected the hot tub to be on the hot side.
We found that the fact that the photographers were virtually non-existent to be amazing. On our last Royal Caribbean Cruise there was always someone to take your picture, in the restaurants, getting off the ship in port, just in numerous places. And then when we went to look at the pictures that they did take, it took forever to find a couple of them and the ones we wanted to purchase, they could not manage to get printed, it took multiple trips to the kiosk and then finally a trip to Guest Services to get the picture delivered.
Entertainment

We saw Jersy Boys and Six and both of those were excellent.
Service and Staff
1 out of 5
The only staff that we were happy with was the bartenders and the wait staff in the specialty restaurants they were great. The rest of the staff were marginal at best.
We ordered breakfast to be delivered to our state room on the 1st morning at sea, it was delivered 3 times and all 3 times it was wrong, we finally told the waiter to leave and we ate what was delivered.
Ship Quality
4 out of 5
The cleanliness of the ship was excellent, the state room was laid out very well, but the ship appears to have been designed as a warm weather cruising ship and there was not the ability to use the outdoor activities since it is much colder going to and from Alaska
This was probably the best part of the cruise. The fact that the Port of Seattle has an agreement with the airlines to allow you to check your bags right on the ship is GREAT! I wish that the other ports would work to impliment this
I had a great time on Bliss. But that *was* a 14 day cruise with only 1313 passengers. So maybe your trip was bad b'cuz they sailed at near full capacity.
Horrible cruise line is my experience as well. I will never sail with NCL again, either. Don't waste your time with them, they're the very definition of incompetence.
