Great relaxing cruise. Buffet can be frustrating at times.

Loved the ship and love Holland America. We’ve cruises several cruise lines but Holland America is our favorite so far.

The Nieuw Amsterdam staff and services were excellent! Would love to take cruise on Nieuw Amsterdam again.

Great ship and always up to the HAL standards. If I should find only a negative note this could be the crowded lines for breakfast.

The itinerary is relaxing and fine for any family.

We had rough seas a couple of times where I had to go to the middle of the 3rd floor where the bobbing and swelling of the seas was more bearable than staying in my 6th floor cabin.

The crew was the nicest people who would ask if I needed anything. That impressed me. There were fewer children on this cruise. Less noise. The music was totally enjoyable around the swimming pool. No wet t-shirt or hard rock loud music. VERY ENJOYABLE!

Holland America impressed me very much! 10 STARS FOR SURE!

Our first cruise since March 2020 and second time on this ship. Enjoyable get away and we booked Hawaii for next year while on board as the on board discounts are always the best deal

This 5 day cruise has 3 sea days and 2 ports. We had wonderful weather and a calm sea state. The cruise had a large number of families celebrating the holidays so the pools were ofter very crowded. The ship was empty on the port days.

This was our second cruise with HAL. The food is delicious and the staff is amazing. We liked it so much we booked the same ship to Alaska in June 2023.

21 day cruise consisting of an older population. Very informative presentations by the cruise and travel director, Valerie. Nice to be back on the sea.

This was our first cruise after the covid shutdown and everything was perfect. HAL required a vaccine and a negative covid test in order to board. Once on the ship, we were given HAL masks and 95% of the pax and 100% of the crew wore masks. We felt comfortable with HAL’s covid protocols and we never heard of anyone having problems. Had high hopes for our first cruise with Holland America but we were sadly disappointed in pretty much everything starting with our stateroom where we found the trash hadn’t even been emptied (rotten fruit pits, etc), pillow smelled so bad they kept us awake, first meal was pork tenderloin, served almost raw. Went down from there. Unless you paid to upgrade your food, it was all pretty terrible and Entertainment was dull.

Was a great cruise. Loved everything about it. The staff was probably my favorite part. They were awesome.

Great cruise, breathtaking nature. We had wonderful weather all week. In Skagway we did the White Pass Rail en Klondike highway by bike tour. It was a spectacular experience.

Wonderful ship and staff. Large room with lots of storage. Never had a bad meal. Easy ship to get around and in very good condition. The entertainment was great and I love the live music on board. Holland America has made some changes and their customer service has declined but it is still a great cruise to take if you like a more sedate and sophisticated experience. I look forward two sailing on Holland America again.

This was our first cruise, so I can't compare it to another cruise line or ship. We needed to relax, so the quiet was great. However, the boredom settled in quicker than we thought it would. I think Holland America is designed for a specific demographic and they do an amazing job catering to it. I can't say we didn't love the cruise. We just didn't LOVE the cruise.

Nieuw Amsterdam is my least favorite Holland Ship. Very dead, little music. Dominican Republic is a beautiful country , but you must take excursions away from the port. Beaches and villages are worth the trip.
