Awesome cruise, musicians, food and beverage, port stops, everything was perfect!

Great cruise to relax on. Perfect for a honeymoon or a couples get-away. Very few children onboard. Cruise lines mainly draws senior citizens.

We loved the Islands and the people. The cruise ship was beautiful and super clean but so boring. Don't take a HAL cruise if you like to have any sort of entertainment on your cruise.

We had a good time. Our stewards were amazing. The embarkation and disembarkation were enough to turn me off cruising for good. Note: I did not have the option to choose our proper itinerary- we did a 7-day with stops in Ketchikan , Juneau and Skagway.

Booking through RCI provided some advantage with smaller shore excursions, though less efficiently organized. Also, we didn't have travel through Holland America, which caused difficulty traveling to and from the ship (embarkation and disembarkation). Things could have gone smoother had we booked directly with the cruise line, though I probably won't ever book with Holland America again. Viking is much better though expensive.

Alaska is a wonderful cruise. I highly recommend a trip this way. Spend some time on land in the Anchorage/Denali area. I would be apprehensive using Holland again. Some of this is on me. I did not research the ship itself well enough. I think this company has food service issues and they don’t seem all that organized for embarking and disembarking. Not much can be said for their “sales seminars” and quality of entertainment. The staff was very friendly, courteous, but maybe a little detached.

I would have rated this cruise as average or slightly above if Holland had not totally messed up the itinerary. As it turned out, we only had one port (Curacao) to enjoy a beach or excursion.

The Alaskan cruise is a must do. Holland America does a great job and caters to the older passengers very well. Weather was ok but you need to have rain gear, warm clothing especially if you go in September.

This was my 2nd time in Alaska - each time was different - this was a fabulous experience! Weather cooperated for the day in Glacier Bay and again in Ketchikan - overall I would recommend this trip to anyone

This was our first visit to Alaska. The scenery was beautiful. The temperatures were great (since we traveled from hot Texas). The scheduled time in each port was good, and it gave us time to explore. The ship docked in very good and convenient locations in each port. One specialty restaurant (Canaletto) was located in the buffet area (Lido) which we thought was strange.

Always a HAL fan and this was our second Thanksgiving cruise on the Nieuw Amsterdam however it wasn’t the best cruise.

This trip was for the most part a disappointment. Our dinner at the Pinnacle Grill was excellent but this was the only good part about this cruise. Even though the other food areas had different food at each area, they left a lot to be desired because they had the same food at each station each day. There were only two channels on the TV that were worth watching, unless you wanted to see news programming. There were five channels dedicated to that and two dedicated to sports.

Really like it, would go with Holland America again

Cruise was fine and Alaska was great as usual. While many of the issues were outside of HAL control (boarding in Vancouver, weather in the Gulf of Alaska, norovirus) we were very disappointed with HAL. Poor service, snobby officers, weak entertainment.

V Enjoyable However from 3 Ports we ended up booking 7 Shore Excursions because 2 were cancelled 2-4 weeks prior to Cruise; 1 Cancelled on day of Embarkation - all these 3 WITH NO REASONS GIVEN!!!! 4th trip cancelled at Time f Helicopter flight to Glacier in Skagway due to low cloud in Mountains and therefor fully understandable But Holland America could/should COMMUNICATE BETTER

- ship was stuck in port for 2 days while making repairs. This completely changed our itinerary. - Itinerary was not what I paid for. - too many passengers and not enough staff to handle the numerous complaints. - Air condition was out in our cabin for the first night. Wife and I had difficulty sleeping. - felt rushed and pressured to maintain the modified itinerary / excursions. - Holland needs a better maintenance program so that it doesn’t disrupt future cruises. *** Hindsight is I should have cancelled this cruise but it was for my wife’s birthday.

We had a great relaxing cruise. The food was amazing and the service was top notch!

The crew, who treat you like family and who are a family of mariners, makes the HAL cruising extra special.

The cruise tour from the ship for Curacao was OK not great

The cruise was good. But the land tour was unsatisfactory. They messed up our land tours. To date they have not returned my money for the side tour that they refused to allow me to take. It did not matter that I had written proof from Holland showing the tour on my itinerary. I am very disappointed in their McKinley Chalet staff.
