The cruise was amazing, except for the fact the the supervisor in the yacht club was a racist and bullied my two grandsons, the only two black children in the yacht club. He kept harassing them asking for their room number, asking to show bracelets and card. They need cards or bracelets to gain entrance but he continued to harass them until i stepped to his racist ass!! I was with a group of 20 plus family members in the yacht club. Damn shame in 2023 we still have to deal with racism in areas where others feel we don’t belong!!
Book with a different cruise line!!! The food should be something to look forward too. But it was HORRIBLE! Not only was it cold most of the time, but I had no flavor. And to top it off, my wife almost broke a tooth on a rock she found in her salad! The ship had nothing to say other than they would look in to it.
Book your entertainment early & arrive on time! These time slots sell out fast. Try the pizza! Also, MSC has taken corrective action regarding complaints about people sitting for hours & hours at the buffet tables, while people have nowhere to sit & enjoy a quick meal. They have added signs on the tables asking patrons "to be kind & vacate the seating for the next diner". Thanks MSC for listening to the numerous complaints.
I had a wonderful time on MSC. It was my first time and it will not be my last. Even though our itinerary was changed last minute due to the storm, we ended up in Canada and Boston instead of the warm Bahamas. We still made the best of it and enjoyed every moment of it.
This is a very large ship and when at capacity it’s very difficult to find tables in the buffet. Try a little off hours and find your seat before gathering your meal.
The Brooklyn port is very congested it’s small the same time embarkation is happening. Debarkation is also happening for the people coming off the ship so that small area with cars is very congested so allow yourself a lot of time and patience, especially when debarking.
We went in as multiple time cruisers but first time MSC. Any vacation like this can be what you make of it. Don’t dwell on the negatives and get what you want out of the cruise. Highly enjoyable 9 days with a couple minor inconveniences.
We check in at 1 pm for both our trips, worked great, walked right on.
The aft pool area and aft seating at the buffet were great.
Ask for another mattress pad, for the hard bed. The forward elevators are less crowded.
If you like aft balconies, this is a great ship - except bear in mind the closest elevators are midship, around 155 steps. The stairs and elevators you see in the aft on deck plans are for crew only.
