Embarkation

Simple. Arrive early, despite your time slot. Play by the rules and you'll be in the terminal for hours.

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Food was enjoyable, but many items were cold. Meats on rotisserie station were ALWAYS tough and dry (lamb, pork, roast beef)

Onboard Activities

We enjoyed the shows. Spent more time than I wanted to in the sportplex, but glad its indoors. Would have liked to do other activities, but NOT doing the outdoor pool in Canada

All I asked Guest Services from Day 1 was can we have hot chocolate since we were heading to Canada instead of Bahamas. NOPE! Request denied.

Ship is beautiful, no doubt. Maybe not a design issue, but for a new ship they often had water dispenser problems in the Marketplace

I think you summed it up perfectly. MSC is OK until there is a problem and you have to ask to get something fixed. I will never forget the poor elderly lady in front of me in guest services who claimed her card was wrongly charged and the desk lady just told her someone would look into it later and refund her card. She knew MSC enough to not believe that. She eventually asked to see a manager and the clerk told her, “No, you may not speak to a manager”. The lady just had to walk away in tears.

I was on the same sailing as you. I'm sorry you didn't enjoy it. I really had no complaints other than the room being cold at night and in the morning.

The Meraviglia has to be one of MSC's worst ships. Between the port workers and many of the crew (locals from NY) it will never improve. They have crew from the Philippines and South Africa too which are somewhat better but overall the passengers aren't much better. Everyone has an attitude and most are newly employed and have no cruise ship background. Either pay more for their yacht club or sail in the Mediterranean or the middle east/Dubai for a pleasant trip.
