Review summary

On a scale of one to 10 I give the MSC cruise line a solid 8.75! I think the website could be more user-friendly. But once on the ship, I would give it a solid 9! The entertainment was top-notch. The food was good. The pizza was excellent at the buffet chocolate shop. The prices in the MSC shop are very good they’re reasonable they had nice MSC jackets for only $26, you can buy sets for less priced than you on the outside, the arts and crafts on sea days do not incur an extra charge and of course the staff are very friendly. I had no major issues the entire 12 days of my cruise and yes I absolutely would sell with MSC out of Brooklyn again. 🤗

Embarkation

A breeze! (Note: I was on an electric scooter)

Ship experiences

Food and Dining

Dinner was fabulous. Waitstaff was attentive. Breakfast was a little choppy but doable. I only ate at Hola for specialty dining. It was good. I do not like buffets so I did not eat up there. But…. The Pizza upstairs was really good!

Onboard Activities

Unfortunately, the 12 days I was on the ship, it was on the cool side and very windy. Never stepped foot in any pool nor the ocean on port days. Only took advantage of the jacuzzi one day. And because there were many ppl waiting to get in, the lifeguard had everyone on a 15 min timer, which was ok with me.

Entertainment

Excellent!!!! Loved every minute of every show, and I saw all of them. Including the two paying shows in the theater in the back. The acrobats were excellent. The singing was top-notch. I look forward to every show, even wanted to see them more than once. Bravo to the cast!!

Children's Programs

Solo adult traveler. But the Lego rooms are cool but they wouldn’t let me in 😩

Service and Staff

Excellent service!

Ship Quality

Love the crystal staircase beautiful spot to take photos especially on formal night. I like the design of the ship. Easy to get around. I rate the ship on a 10 out of 10 score.

Cabin / Stateroom

I purchased the inside Bella cabin, and to my surprise, I was upgraded to a partial obstructed balcony, which was beautiful. I was on the side of the ship that was facing the lighthouse so I could see the lighthouse show from my balcony which was perfect. This balcony room 14118 is not that far from the back elevator, and not that far from the mid panoramic elevator. But it is directly under I believe the sitting area of the buffet because I can hear the chairs being dragged on the floor above me, it just so happens. I’m a heavy sleeper, but I could hear that sound until after midnight.

Ship tip

The Brooklyn port is very congested it’s small the same time embarkation is happening. Debarkation is also happening for the people coming off the ship so that small area with cars is very congested so allow yourself a lot of time and patience, especially when debarking.

Ports of call

Port Canaveral, Florida

Not my favorite cruise port to stop at there’s not much to do locally. You have to get some kind of transportation away from Pier 10, which is where MSC pulls in terminal one which is where royal pull in you can get off the ship and walk to shops and restaurants, but where MSC poles in terminal 10 you have to get a van transport or an Uber which will cost you minimum $10 each way per person

Cozumel, Mexico

5 out of 5
I enjoy this port more than I thought I would and I did not veer too far away from the ships terminal. There’s many places to shop and eat within walking distance of the ship terminal and you don’t have to go far if you don’t want to.

Costa Maya (Mahahual), Mexico

5 out of 5
Loved this port. If you don’t want to venture far away from the ship terminal, there is a pool area with plenty of lounge chairs. There’s a swim up bar there’s a tiny tiny zoo with flamingos and toucans and various birds that you can see for free just walking up to it. Plenty of places to shop and at a certain time of day they perform a Mexican Ritual right there in the center Square. I did not veer from this area everything I wanted to do was right there by the cruise terminal. I did not go past that area.

Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, Bahamas

5 out of 5
I like ocean cay. it was my first time here it does not have all of the water, sports and parks like Coco cay, but for me who don’t swim anyway, it was the perfect place to just relax on a lounge chair by ocean water. This island also have food trucks around so you can grab a quick burger, fries or hotdog. They also shop where to buy purchase things.

Miami, Florida

5 out of 5
There is an area not too far from the cruise port with various shops. Lots of restaurants Bubba Gump is there. And you can also take various mini fairies or yacht cruises from the port while you’re there. They are also a number of free trolleys that will take you all around the city. You just have to get the map and find out how to do the connection between the trolleys, but they’re free, they will take you to South Beach

Disembarkation

4 out of 5
The disembarkation process for me was fairly simple and easy but then again I did have an electric scooter so I did not have to wait on a long lines. However, when we got outside, it was raining and the area where they make you go and stand to wait for your personal car to pick you up was very crowded and congested And I was amongst the last groups to leave the ship and it was a lot of people standing out in the rain. But they do have police police help at all the intersections leading into the port, and leading out of the port to direct you and make the traffic flow better.
