Review summary

Overall, food was great, entertainment was great. Traveling through that many sea days can be subject to some rough waters, so be prepared to prevent motion sickness.

Embarkation

Cruise was low capacity, we showed up at the recommended time and it took less than 25 min to get through security and board the ship.

Food and Dining

We ate at all five specialty restaurants plus main dining room twice for dinner and twice for lunch. All specialty experiences were great. Hola Taco more of a casual lunch than a bonafide dinner, but we loved the food and drinks. Main dining was okay for first formal night with lobster, but not great. Second night we ate there was very good. Lunch in the main was good except for the cheeseburger, skip it. The buffet was good for breakfast and lunch. The PIZza was very good. Highly recommend.

Onboard Activities

Plenty of activities available, however we basically relaxed and went to the Sky Lounge for jazz music each night. One show {Journey} we attended wasn’t really our style.

Jazz music was great in the sky lounge. Didn’t attend much else.

Aside from one indifferent excursions agent, staff was friendly and attentive.

Ship tip

We went in as multiple time cruisers but first time MSC. Any vacation like this can be what you make of it. Don’t dwell on the negatives and get what you want out of the cruise. Highly enjoyable 9 days with a couple minor inconveniences.
