I had a great time. by JamesYDorante

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I enjoyed the entertainment, the food and I liked the overall appearance of the ship. I wish our stop at Puerto Rico was longer. I would definitely recommend this cruise to others.

Not a very good experience by Cruiser38128352

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The boat is beautiful, it offers a lot of entertainment, and the food is really good. The breakfast was awesome, although it was very hard to get a table (understandable for a ship with 4000 passengers)However, the customer service left a lot to offer. I saw servers argue with customers about trivial things like a warm beer that should have been cold and the amount of expresso served in a cup. I also experienced a horrible encounter with the captain of one the restaurants, because he could not comply with my request of being seated with friends from another cabin; request I had made more than a month before and that I had confirmed the day before going on the cruise. He explained that he had no knowledge of this, which is almost incredible with the advances in technology these days. Moreover, it was very upsetting, especially since the guy had a terrible attitude and acted as if we was there for free. I need to point out that I was not the only one having problems that day. There was a huge line of people in the same situation, So I had to wait more than 30 minutes to be finally seated. Therefore, even though we had a good time overall, there is still a lot that can be improved in this cruiseship, especially the customer service and communication.

Fantastic Cruise by brannenf318

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Everything was wonderful on this cruise--from the rooms, to the food, to the staff. I've taken many different cruises from many different lines (Celebrity, Royal Caribbean, Norwegian, and Carnival). I've been on the mega-ships and the smaller ships and this is by far the best cruise experience I've had. As many have said before, the ship is beautiful. The other guests were en

joyable to be around even though we didn't all speak the same language. I used many of the services on board (specialty dining, hair salon, gym, and spa) and each was better than I've experienced on other cruise lines. I met many lovely people from many different countries-this is what traveling is all about. I need to mention to the entertainment is fantastic--there is a great show every night.

MSC by mzmicki

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

not very happy at all, the staff was not friendly at all some of the staff at the bars were very rude. There were children in the bars after midnight some of the things that I would have thought that was unexceptionable for the children to be doing even though they were on vacation should not have been done there should have been a time and place for children and a little more rules for them and the parents I have children myself and that's not a place for them doing cartwheels and flips in a bar

Our 50th Anniversary by visionarycmn

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The most enjoyable part of the cruise for us was  visiting the four different Caribbean ports to shop. There were some terrific buys.

The staff was very friendly  and helpful. We appreciated that the ship and our cabin was very clean.

We were disappointed in the fact that someone in the cabin room next to us was a very heavy smoker . We were NOT able to enjoy our balcony because of the person smoking in the cabin next to us. They seemed to often be on their balcony smoking or would come out when we went out  on ours.

At times we could smell the smoke in our cabin as well. My husband and I are non smokers , and we believed that this ship was to be a smoke free cruise.

We paid for a balcony and an up grade for our balcony cabin. We feel that we should be compensated for the cost of the balcony room and the cost of the upgraded  balcony room as we were not able to enjoy our balcony  because of the heavy smoker next to us.

SUGGESTION:

It would be nice if a device could be put in cabins to alert the office staff of persons smoking in their rooms.

I would like to say that our BJ's agent has always been very helpful over the years as we have had several other cruise through BJ's travel that she has booked for us on other cruise lines, and we appreciate her .

People all over the world was one family on this cruises, love it.!!! by luevounia

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The cruise was great, the people were delightful, fun and enjoyable. All the port were great. The food was the best ever. The only one thing I feel could be revamped  is the customer personal account on board. I thought the credit I paid for the trip would be my credit card on file and it wasn't.  I use cash because I didn't  understand at first. Then at the end the amount that was requested was not a amount I wanted to put on my card.

First and last time on MSC by brentnjt05

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

There were a few exceptional staff members, but otherwise the crew attitudes ranged from indifferent to downright surly. Everything was very disorganized- tours didn't start on time, daily programs had incorrect information several times, opening/closing times of shops were never accurate, the buffet was over-crowded and under-stocked, dining room service was slow at breakfast and lunch, and the hand sanitizer dispensers almost never worked. There were so many sick people onboard! I would only rate this cruise as a 2 star if we hadn't paid a lot of money to upgrade to the Aurea experience. The perks we received for that were nice, and again, there were a few exceptional crew members who made it a better experience. All in all, we'll stick with Norweigian from now on.

Shows and more by wecruz1956

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

The cruise was very good. The shows were wonderful and very well put together. Need improvement in the service: in the main pool area you need additional servers, also the servers need to be more helpful in the buffet area. Also if the have onboard activities planned and scheduled they need to stick to it. You can be waiting 30 minutes or more for someone to show up or never at all to conduct the activity. We should not be calling reception to ask what's going on with the planned activity.

My husband's birthday was during the cruise and I had bought 2 packages for the cabin: 1) The Welcome Champagne and 2) The Asti with Chocolates strawberries for the day of his birthday which I called and scheduled. We got everything the day of departure and he got a Birthday Card from the crew the day after his birthday. They need to get better organize!!!!!!!

Relaxing Week by shageman

We liked the cleanliness of the ship. I did not appreciate a man entering the restroom right behind me to clean it. I feel he should have waited till I left.

What an experience! by lysihalkides

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

As an avid cruise goer this was my first time traveling with MSC and it won't be my last. From the food to the entertainment, everything was top notch. I was impressed on every level (literally all levels of the ship).

I must say that I was most surprised by the lovely and endearing staff. No matter where I was on the ship everyone was respectful and polite. The cleaning staff was incredible. I never saw them clean my room, yet every time I went back to it, whether it be to sleep or just to grab something, my room would be tidied and cleaned again.

I recommend this cruise line over any of the other competitors-- The boat is new and up-to-date, there's something to do for everyone, and the food is unimaginably delicious.

My Devina experience by ddepina5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

I loved the buffet restaurant because it featured food from different regions. However, the dining  (reserved restaurant) I belive should have more food choices. And, definitely I could have appreciated clocks on hallways with the correct time which would prevent people from missing planned programs.

I would recommend this cruise to my friends b/c they have great custumer service  (not the ones from deck five and six, they lack smile and they are dry),  especially the maids( loved Melody); and I love the ports

Very good by fsantos00

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

Best: Service, Entertainment

Worst: Specialty restaurants, no defined adult quiet spaces

The service and the entertainment on the ship were excellent. However, there were numerous children and teens on the cruise from different nationalities and there was no defined outdoor space for adults to share quiet moments alone or with friends. Although the food was good, specially in the main dining room, the specialty restaurants are not worth going to. The menus are less than desirable and in one, the service was poor and we walked out.

mixed feelings by dstutz4488

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

My wife and I have taken over a dozen cruises, so I think we have enough to experience to compare this last trip.  Many of the reviews are two or three years old.  This one was just on June 4, 2016.  The ship was absolutely beautiful and clean.  There was always some attendant vacuming floors or wiping down railings.  Since it is a relatively new ship it was not worn out like several we have been on.

The staff seemed to be mostly from Indonesia and were not as friendly as the Filipinos.  They did not really push drinks or service but were available if you needed them.  There was a lack of information from the time of embarkation to entering our rooms thru the time of leaving the ship.  The daily information sheets were very lacking and we had to ask receptionist a lot of questions.

Food was weak.  The dining room had a very cranky old  matre di,  that should have been retired years before.  He gave us a lot of grief.  The dining room had very limited choices compared to Carnival, Royal Caribbean or Norwegian, for instance at a lunch in the dining room, we ordered a Rubin sandwich and got two pieces of bread with a few grill marks, a thin piece of ham and a very thin piece of Swiss cheese (that is not what I am used to getting for a real Rubin).  The waiters were excellent and dining room elegant.  The  daily buffet on top had a lot of variety, but the food seemed to be very bland and tasteless and repeating each day.

The cruise caters to the European Market.  They even said that they have a European product in an American market.  Unless you are use to the Italians and other EU people. They were absolutely without manners.  They would cut in line in front of you at every buffet station and God forbid if you are on an full elevator and a group of them together  decide to get  on an elevator. no matter what. They pushed and shoved to get on till  we had to yell out let us off we couldn't breathe.  That is not the fault of MSC cruise line, but just comes with the territory.

The cabins were immaculate and clean.  If you can get a cabin with a balcony, do it.  We just opened the sliders at night and listened to the waves breaking like a sea side  resort.

Over all it was well worth the reasonable fare.

Beautiful Cruiseship - mediocre service and food by Varian

Sail date: / Traveled as: Large Group
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

MSC Divina is a beautiful looking ship as is the interior - unfortunately that where the good parts end - embarking and disembarking was chaotic - being told by ground staff that we HAD to go to customer services to register a credit card (despite them having it on file) queuing for 45 minutes to be told just before we get to the front that the machine was around the corner and no need to queue !!.

food on board - Buffet was very poor and mostly cold and little variety - dining room  meals were - well frankly mediocre in both portion and taste - staff in general were pretty rude and curt if you asked a question - stateroom attendant was quite poor and to not have irons onboard and charge $5.00 to press a shirt is very poor. Bars drink selection was OK but not the way they make cocktails - all juices were way too sugary making cocktails so very sweet - using lime cordial in a moscow mule is just wrong . i think the bottom line from my side was that fantastic ship but having too big of a European crew and passengers (I am originally from the UK but lived in the states for 15 years  ) changed the dynamic of the cruise and made it unlike any we had been on before  and we wont be going MSC again

Beautiful ship by Somehotsauce2

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was very beautiful.  The crew was constantly cleaning and fixing things immediately.  The buffet was huge with many options but was the same all 7 days which got old by the third day. The Italian steakhouses was outstanding. They coul improve the music around the pool. They also allow smoking on the pool deck on one side which is offensive if your a non smoker. Overall a great cruise.

MSC Divina by jmillie51

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: MSC Divina / Destination: Caribbean - Eastern

This was an amazing trip and ship. The staff could not be more accommodating. The room was great although I do prefer a couch in the room. I have been on a number of cruise lines but I felt that this was a more intimate cruise. I would suggest they allow the credit card registration online vs on a kiosk when you board. Too chaotic. Overall awesome
