Mariner of the Sea by NimalS

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Mexico

First Cruise experience, and it was wonderful. Buffet type food facilities and inexpensive, duty free gift shops are marvellous. My kids and family had an unprecedented vacation time with no gripes at all. However, knowing the price discrimination, we became very unhappy along with the promised credits which were not available on board for purchasing. I was ripped off I am sure representative's knowing the urge I had to go on the trip and the pressure from the kids. Now, the representatives do not even answer my emails. Good Luck for your further ripping off innocent customers.

Excellent Cruise by LT68615178

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (older children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Mexico

Overall impressions of this ship is great! I celebrated my 50th b-day with my family during this cruise and all I can say is it is the best birthday ever. My room was filled with decorations the day of my birthday and I've got fresh, beautiful red roses delivered to my room courtesy of my husband. I can't ask for anything more. Our stateroom attendant was superb. He kept our room nice and clean. Waiters and staff were great.

The ship was beautiful. Our Stateroom Attendant (Alexander Gahol) was perfect. He was on it. Our room was always clean and they even made animal figure with towels after the room was clean. It was great.

Ship is big, well-maintained, and offers a lot of fun activities. Food could be better, and service was very good most of the time.

A Great Cruise For Families by AdamL

Sail date: / Traveled as: Family (young children)
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Mexico

The ship is larger than any ship we have cruised out of the Port Of San Pedro. It is large enough to find something to do most of the time, but small enough to get around easily. We still prefer the larger ships, but this is the best we have taken out of LA.

Check-in and check-out are very organized and convenient. Promenade on the 5th deck is alluring. Ice performance is of top quality.

Loved the trip. Didn't like the towel service located in the middle of a smoking section (not particularly good for asthmatics like me).

A fantastic vacation! by AlyssaN

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Mexico

This was the first cruise I have ever been on and after this trip I have decided that cruising is the only way to go! The ship was wonderful. There was always something to do and the staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. The Chops Grille had some of the best food I've ever had, and their wine pairings were wonderful! You could tell that our waiter loved what he did. All of the staff were cheerful and welcoming! The shows were also so much fun! Try to make as many of the late night adult comedy shows as you can, especially the Quest. And if you need a snack before the shows, the cafe on the Promenade has delicious pizza and sandwiches!

Our First Cruise by Km21

I loved the interaction between the Captain and the guests. Every day he would get on the intercom and address and explain what was going on. It made such a large ship personal.

It is really wonderful cruise and since it is my first time and I am really surprise about this ship. I would love to cruise again in Alaska in the future. The staff are very friendly and helpful. I would recommend this cruise to my friends and relatives. Overall it is excellent.

Mariner May 9, 2010 through May 16, 2010 by GregoryJ

Sail date: / Traveled as:
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Mexico

The Mariner of the Seas is a beautiful ship (huge!!!!) and our D2 balconey cabin on Deck 9 was incredible. The staff were attentive and not at all imposing on our time and space. The food-in all dining venues-was not very good but we don't consider that a deal breaker. In the main dining area you do get the feeling that you are being rushed but it is a big ship with lots of people waiting to occupy your space. Ports of call were terrific. A lot of people seem to not like Mazatlan but we loved it. We limited our touring to the Zona Historico having gotten enough of the modern in Cabo San Lucas the day before. We hired a open air cab for $20 for an hour and saw a lot but we really enjoyed walking around exploring. Puerto Vallarta is in a class all its own. We did splurge and took an older British couple up to Chico's Paradise up in the mountains for $40 cabride round trip (have your cabbie wait for you while you have lunch-we had ours come into the restaurant and treated him to lunch). We did not utilize ship run excursions (too controlled and geared for shopping and too expensive. We also did not use the supplemental restaurants as we've done so on other trips.

Had a wonderful time aboard the ship by LilletteQ

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Mexico

I have traveled on several ships. This is the second time in many years that I have been on a RCC line. The Mariner of the Seas was what I expected. The stateroom had ample space for two adults. Loved the shower. On some other cruise lines the bathroom accommodations are very limiting, however, our facilities met our needs. Only concern was the septic smell that lingered in the hallways the last three nights of the cruise. Over all, the cruise was fun and very relaxing.

All in all it was very enjoyable by BernieC

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Mexico

Staff was wonderful. Food was very good as to quality and quantity. First night had a problem with the dining room. Arrived for first seating at 7:00 p.m and then told my two table seats were given away to someone else and I would be reassigned to another table. Was not even asked if I minded! There appeared to be a somewhat cavalier attitude about the whole thing. Fortunately, the people at the table to which my guest and I were reassigned were very pleasant. Thank goodness!

Great service by PamI

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Mexico

Stateroom - great. Service - outstanding. Great value for the money and loads to do onboard ship. Mariner was a blast to explore, even for us over 50 folks. We ordered the Grand Romance Package to help celebrate our anniversary and it REALLY was wonderful. We got to keep the robes and choose which photo to put into the 8x10 frame. They treated us like royalty. The only complaint we have about the entire cruise is the entertainment. The ice show was great, but the rest of their evening entertainment was just not as good as we've seen in our past cruises with Royal Caribbean.
