Stateroom - great. Service - outstanding. Great value for the money and loads to do onboard ship. Mariner was a blast to explore, even for us over 50 folks. We ordered the Grand Romance Package to help celebrate our anniversary and it REALLY was wonderful. We got to keep the robes and choose which photo to put into the 8x10 frame. They treated us like royalty. The only complaint we have about the entire cruise is the entertainment. The ice show was great, but the rest of their evening entertainment was just not as good as we've seen in our past cruises with Royal Caribbean.
Ship experiences
Food and Dining
3 out of 5
The food was very good, not great, but very good. We took a night off from the dining room and went to Jade for sushi. The sushi chef was making all kinds of rolls as fast as his fingers would allow. It was nice to have as much as we wanted! Johnny Rockets tastes just like every other one we've been to. If you have kids, DO plan on going in for lunch or dinner at least once.
Entertainment
1 out of 5
Other than the ice show, which was FABULOUS, the entertainment was lacking. The dancers looked like a group counting off their routines and one of the female singers had such a shrill voice that many of us left when she opened her mouth for the second song. The comedians were so-so. Definitely not the same quality of entertainment we've experienced on previous cuises.

Cabin / Stateroom

Bobby treated us better than right and called us by name every time he saw us. Our room was kept very tidy and what you may have heard about the towel animals is true. In the 7 days we had a rabbit, an elephant, a monkey and a bat - very cool. We were midship, which gave us great access to everything. If you've never been on a cruise, just wait until you see the bathroom - THE smallest you'll ever find, but it has everything you need.
We've been to Puerto Vallarta before and fell in love with this wonderful city several years ago. Anything you do here will create memories that will make you want to return again and again. Shopping and drinking margaritas are our favorite activities here. We docked right across the street from Walmart!
This is Mexico! Wonderful people and artisans. We loved this port. Much to do, depending on your mood and likes. They offer it all here. We heard great reviews from folks who took the 4WD tours. We really liked the 3 city tour.
SO much to do and see. We really enjoyed the coastal tour and Cacti Mundo. The views of the Los Arcos from the ship as we came into port were fabulous. There's a lot of American money here, so you don't get a real taste of Mexico. But there are some great restaurants within walking distance of the pier. Fabulous beaches.
