Awesome cruise! by SherryM5

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Cruise to Nowhere

This was our second cruise. It had been 15 years ago that we cruisied on another cruise liner. Royal Caribbean is absoluty the best. I'm ready to go again after I recover from speading so much money on jewerly. HA! We met the nicest people, not only the crew but people from all over the world. We even ran into some friends from our home town. The food was awesome and the the head waiter (Jeffrey) and his assistant really took care of us. I also want to thank our excuration team in Jamacia......Victoria and the driver were the nicest and sweetest people I have ever met. A big thanks go to John Wayne and Curtis for the great Class Bottom Boat ride. Thank you Roayl Caribbean for a great 7 day cruise. Will see you again soon. Keep up the good work.

A very nice cruise! by JanM7

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Ship was clean and beautiful. Great food choices. Great staff in dining hall (Irene and Fernando) and room steward was amazingly refreshing and helpful (Dennis) 8353. Loved all the shows except the Platters. Not a very good relevant show. I would not have gone to see that show again. Helpful but not so friendly staff at Guest Services.

Unethical behavior by LeslieB4

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I witnessed an incident aboard the ship upon check out and reported it. It was handled as if an inconvenience and subsequently dismissed. The lack of ethics and regard for an individual's safety is appalling. I won't be cruising with Royal Caribbean again.

Fantastic - totally spoiled us! But.... by MollyM1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

The ship was fantastic! Nothing really bad to say there. My husband and I went by ourselves and had a very wonderful time. No matter how much you spend to be on the ship - whether you have an inside stateroom, like we did, or the best suite - you were spoiled and treated like royalty! The only thing that put me off, which was remedied, were the beds. Prepare yourself, because they are HARD! Finally, after waking up with my back on fire on the 5th day, I asked our stateroom attendant if I could get a pad for it or something. When we got back to our room not 2 hours later it was there, all made up for me. I was so happy and slept so well! Another BIG turn-off for me was the check-in process. They had TWO security machines that were x-raying peoples' take-on luggage. TWO for 3200 people! After that they had 30 booths to check-in at, and only half were open. Honestly, if 3200 people are trying to get onto the ship at once, make better plans for them. It took us 2.5 hours to check-in!

Best trip ever! by SusanB35

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

We sailed the Mariner of the Seas to the Western Caribbean. We had a fabulous time. The food was wonderful, the cruise director, hilarious. We loved Marty in the Wig and Gavel on guitar, and the Windjammer for all the food we could ever want.

A Good Cruise by ChadP1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

I thought going with Royal would be the top of the line and I was very dissappointed. I am in my 40's and was looking to have some fun, but this ship has very little to offer in that way. The shows were well done, but definitely have a target audience of people in their 70's. I have been on Carnival once before and I felt the food and selection of was MUCH better. Outside of the Wayfarer there was only 1 other food option open outside of dining rooms. And the quality of the food in the Wayfarer was equivalent to that of a Royal Fork, while not being horrible it was definitely not what I would normally eat.

An AWESOME cruise! by Jeffs111

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

It was very impressive. The decor was warm and inviting and the staff was outstanding. Our stateroom attendant was so cheerful each and everyday and our room was always in tip-top shape. The dining was spectacular. The food was wonderful, so many choices, and the staff was absolutely the greatest. Their service was spot on and we wanted for nothing. We felt like royalty wherever we went. Nothing but respect and a willingness to please. I would recommend this ship to anyone considering a cruise. Royal Caribbean is the best!

pleasant but not outstanding by ChristopherH1

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

Overall the ship was good. We had a balcony room which compared to other ships we have been on was small. The bathroom was very small with a shower that was impossible to stretch your arms to each side. I'm not that big 5' 10' & 180 but it was chore to wash your hair. Food was good with a variety of choice. I was told that Royal Caribbean has cut back on some aspects & there was no sommelier. The wine was served by the table waiter & his knowledge was minimal. I deliberately chose, what I thought was the dine at any time, however we had to still pick a time. This could be a different time each night if you wished, but it was still inconvenient. The entertainment each night was adequate but one night there was a man doing different voices & he was terrible. The ice show was very good & my wife and I thought that was the best of the shows.

A great cruise once we got started. by VH2213735

Sail date: / Traveled as: Couple
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Southern

Boarding the ship was horrible. We waited 3 hours outside the terminal, standing up the entire time. Few seats were available. When they started loading, people that had just arrived were allowed to cut in ahead of the people that were standing for 3 hours. Then everyone got a $20 credit, including the ones that didn't stand in line for 3 hours. Someone should have been outside of the terminal directing people. Diamond and Platium people should be boarded hours before everyone else, instead of having propiety boarding in front of first timers. The overall boarding was a horrible experience.

Not my favorite by MolllieW

Sail date: / Traveled as: Singles/Friends
Ship: Mariner of the Seas / Destination: Caribbean - Western

There was alot of time delay in loading and unloading passengers from the ship. This comes with over 4,000 people on board. Was not thrilled with excursions that were offered. Casino is totally out of date (real coins drop out), Food was good but too many non american foods are offered.

What a great cruise! by GlendaF

My overall impression of the Mariner of the Seas is off the chart! I loved every minute I was on the ship. There was never a lack of something to do or see. The food was excellent and there were many choices. My room was roomy and clean. The bed was perfect. I can't wait to go again.
